Snort…

Sometimes you just have to laugh at a review…

Excellent does not cover it. I am not much on sword and sorcery, but this is one heck of a fun read. Best waste of 20 min I have had in a long time.

At least it was a five star…

I truly do appreciate the HONEST reviews on my books and stories! šŸ™‚

But I will also say I’m less than happy with the ‘drive by’ stars with no comments. I’m pretty sure there are some folks who don’t like my politics and are giving me one star drive bys. Of note, none of them appear to be actual verified purchases either…

Reviews at least for us peons, drives the ‘presentation’ of our books/stories to others. 50 and 100 are the ‘keys’ for us little folks. I counted up the other month and I have over 2500 reviews (no, that’s really not a lot for big time author, they get more than that on ONE book/novella/short). But I am proud of the fact that even with the 1 stars, I’m still averaging about 4.3-4.5 out of five stars, so at least a few folks like what I’m writing.

I am sorry that I can’t pump out a book a month, but I just don’t write that fast! And yes, I know y’all read faster than that. A lot of folks wanted to see the latest short Country Boys (and Girls) will Survive turned into a novel.

Maybe… no promises…

I’m working on the next Rimworld right now, with the third Bell Chronicles up next and a couple of shorts for Ian’s Raconteur Press also coming due.

  1. Thanks for the reminder about submitting a review.

Really looking forward to another Rimworld story.

  2. Ditto McChuck’s comments of looking forward to the next Rimworld story. It is an interesting universe to escape into.

As far as comments go, when I read a book on my Kindle it will ask for a rating. As far as I can tell it doesn’t give me the option to comments. That means I have to remember to go onto Amazon and add comments at a later date. I try to do that but sometimes my memory is not the best. Other people may be in the same boat and that might be why you get reviews and no comments.

  3. I’m the same as Ed I can rate but also comment. Went in to check one time and comment never showed. So if I finish at 11 at night I hope I remember the next day. I really need to go check both library’s, shoot fish, and your last Rio book. If need be I’ll post.

  4. McC/Ed- Working on it! šŸ™‚

Glass- Interesting… And thank you! The library ones are for a great cause! Our local library!

  5. It is possible to write reviews in the Kindle app (at least on the iPad version), but the process is really confusing.

Iā€™m with Jim on the one-star drive-by ratings. Iā€™d like to know why they gave that rating.

  6. Hey Old NFO;

I also am looking forward to the Rimworld Saga, it is good escapist fun. As far as the 1 star ratings, most likely is the political factor.Lefties are petty that way.

  7. I am having similar problems with Amazon and Kindle ratings. Kindle no longer lists my first name as a rater, and ratings and comments on the book, if they show up, do not show up on a display of the series of books. I have re rated several series thay seemed to have no ratings at all.
On physical purchases, I have the opposite problem. Amazon will not let me delete a purchase from my “to be rated” page without written comments. I called to complain, and they had no answer as to how to get out of their trap system.
I will find a way to have my vengance! Evil sneer … John

  8. Sounds like you are keeping yourself very busy. That’s wonderful, I sure would like to keep myself busy, just like my napping too much.
