One last payoff???

Sure sounds like it to me…

The National Park Service broke agency rules to send an exorbitant share of park maintenance money to former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s district, including the entire $200 million pot of money that Congress included in last year’s budget-climate bill.

Director Charles F. Sams revealed to Congress that higher-ups at the Interior Department ordered him to ensure that the Presidio, a park in Mrs. Pelosi’s district, got the money. He was told they had concluded it was Congress’ intent when it allocated the $200 million — even though the law didn’t say that.

If that isn’t bad enough, there is this one…

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s name will soon appear on a federal building in her hometown thanks to an item slipped into a massive must-pass spending bill that Congress is rushing to approve this week.

Tucked away on page 610 of the 1,455-page tome is a provision to rename the federal building located at 90 7th St in San Francisco, California, as “Speaker Nancy Pelosi Federal Building” to honor the California Democrat who is stepping down from her longtime leadership post.

I can’t help but wonder how much of that $200 Million is going to end up in Pelosi’s pocket…

We REALLY need term limits to stop this kind of crap!!!

One last payoff??? — 16 Comments

  1. We needed term limits 30 years ago, but the System would have never let that happen.

  2. The demoncrats are stealing all the money the Federal Reserve can print. That is minus the billions they are sending to Ukraine with 10% going to the big guy in the White House.

  3. I would make a law that states no federal buildings can be named after any living lawmaker, judge or president.

We got more Mitch McConnell crap in this state than we need.

    • Several states passed that law after Nixon resigned, but quietly brought them back over the years. One of the states? California.

  4. We need term limits for the government workers for total time in office and working as staff for elected officials of 20 years, then once leaving not to be allowed to join anything that gets Federal Funds for at least 8 years.

We will have to pass Constitutional amendments for term limits on House, Senate, and Judicial people. I am not sure that can be passed.

  5. Nancy Pelosi is an incredibly corrupt, rotten politician. And one of the most successful to cash in on her “talents”.

  6. All- I agree, and JG brings up a good point. The entrenched bureaucracy needs to be ‘refreshed’ too…

  7. Name a Federal Building after Nasty Pelosi ? Wouldn’t a sewage treatment plant be more appropriate ?

    • No, because you get raw sewage in, but clean water out.

With NP, find a building that takes good clean in, and puts out only corrupted dirty out. So rename the Capital Building?

  8. The Nancy Pelosi memorial septic tank. Like its namesake, it’s usually full of crap.

  9. I don’t car how long a politician stays in office, as long as those that wander away from decent, honest behavior are aware their transgressions could lead to a hanging. Such events clarify the disdain citizens have for evil politicians, and guarantee the best use of taxpayer money.

  10. I knew a park ranger where they collected fees from campers but their budget was set by HQ. They didn’t get enough of the fees back to cover trail maintenance let alone removal of trees after a big windstorm (Free firewood give away, your’s if you come get it).

What is below may sound extreme but would be the starting point for a healthy debate. We get to pick our problems. We have seen what happens with our current system. How do you stop career politicians and bureaucrats and reanimate a government for the people, by the people?

Term limits are not enough. Any Federal elected official means no immediate family out to first cousin and for 2 following generations should be barred from any office, Federal, state and local. Further your spouse is required to resign their job and be unemployed. You should get audited annually. Any income over your Federal pay confiscated. Pay to be set at average income for an American citizen. Imputed income should be included. When your term is up those conditions continue to apply. Campaign donations do not go to an individual’s campaign, but are split evenly between any registered candidates. Each person is limited to working for a gov’t entity for any more than 10 years cumulative, no exceptions. What about Police, Military, Fire/EMT? No exceptions. This doesn’t preclude experienced people volunteering. This might preclude our proclivity for foreign wars.

We should also consider that any company fined or found guilty of breaking a law the CEO and all company officers get a mandatory jail sentence and confiscation of all income and property. Additionally company officers are limited to 2X the average salary of all workers. No funding of any sort to be given to any charity.

Charities should be audited an any charity that does not give at least 90% of its funds to it’s chartered purpose should lose it’s charter and be shut down. No charity should be allowed to send funds outside the US. (If people want to send money to a charity outside the US that is their choice). Max pay for any charity worker should be US average pay.

Universities – all University employees should be required to teach a class. I took classes from the Dean of the Math Department and one other way back when. Maybe an exception for the secretaries/Admin Assistants.

Debate as necessary – we know the outcome when limits are not imposed.
