One wonders…

‘Which’ population she wants to reduce…

Look, you can call it a mistake if you want — I have no doubt the fact-checkers are working overtime to make it clear it was a “gaffe” — but Kamala Harris did say it. I’m honestly not sure if it was a Freudian slip or just a case of saying the quiet part out loud. But during a speech on climate change on Friday, the nation’s historically unpopular vice president said we need to “reduce population.”

Full article, HERE from PJ Media.
I have a good idea that ‘most’ of us won’t like her answer…
Finishing up at Imaginarium in Louisville, KY, heading back for the homefront later today, so no post tomorrow. I ‘should’ be back in battery on Tuesday.
OBTW, yes, the rubber chicken at the banquet was ‘rubber’ chicken and ‘rubber’ vegetables… I know better… sigh… looking enviously at the kid’s pizza…
Many, many thanks to those who picked up Rimworld – Diversions and seemed to enjoy it! THANK YOU!!!
Now honest reviews are really appreciated too!!!

One wonders… — 21 Comments

  1. Well as far as she is concerned, it won’t be the self proclaimed liberal elites. Probably the same folks they’re trying to use social media companies to silence. She and China Joe don’t seem to think the Constitution or the Supreme Court applies to them, so why would a little thing like state sponsored mass murder bother them. I wonder how long it’ll be before the boxcars start rolling to the death camps.

    • Most of the Left’s population and environment levels seem to have come from the Deep Ecology movement back in the 70s and 80s, (the beginning of the Long March through the institutions.) Among the factoids that were current then: “The Earth has a sustainable natural carrying capacity for human beings of 1 billion or less.”
To save the planet, all but a billion have to go. Somehow.
Now when you read the news, keep your eye out for the word “sustainable.”

      some first pass searches:

“Kamala Harris” AND “sustainable” AND (“global” OR “world” OR “earth”): over 1.5 million hits.
(“kamala” AND “harris” AND “human”) AND (“earth” OR “world” OR “global”) AND “carrying capacity”: nearly half a million.

      Obviously not all relevant.

    • That’s so yesterday. “Everybody” knows they use charter buses these bays. Sheesh!

  2. Her comments are in line with a bunch of the other arseholes at the WEF.

That whole “You will be forced to shut down 30% of the farms” edict in the Netherlands was a WEF-backed push. That would have caused the starvation that the communists always go to as their end game. Thankfully, the Dutch farmers did not go quietly.

In Canada our federal government is trying to force the farmers to use much less fertilizer, while if you listen to the farmers they’ll tell you they’re already using the perfect minimum of fertilizer and fuel in order to maximize crops. Why? Because that’s how they make profit. What the government wants will vastly reduce crop output.

When there’s already starvation in the world, and when food prices are skyrocketing, reducing the food supply is ethically and morally abhorrent to anyone sane. If you’ve reached the point where you think killing off 7/8ths of the world’s population by starving them to death is the morally good thing to do, your moral compass got vaporized years ago.

  3. And thus, the shift towards a Hunger Games reality continues.

No, she didn’t think about what she said.

    Yes, she does believe this.

She wants the population of ‘the districts’ to be reduced to useful worker serf levels. She also, once she and people like her are fully in power, to reduce the useless populations of ‘capital’ but that’s far down the line.

It shows how far the stupid is. How little they care about voting and normal people. How far their agenda has been implemented that they can say things like this.

Remember in 2019/2020 Dopey Joe yelling at a blue collar worker “I don’t work for you, you work for me!”? Yeah, he said it outright, even got national press, yet lost three primaries but came out as the top candidate and won with 80 million votes?

Remember this last week when Mike Pense said he didn’t care about American cities and basically the American people, on a Tucker Carlson interview no less? He’ll do well in the press, as they are clearly pushing for him to lose against whomever makes it to the Dem finish line.

It doesn’t matter what they say. They’re in power. They’ll succeed because they are the Elite and we are just proles, peons, peasants, serfs, slaves of one form or another.

Seriously, listen to what most all of them say. They don’t care about the little man. They care about their caste, their social class, their own little world. We are just the ants that make their world go.

We are living in Metropolis. We, the workers, can just die and there’s a replacement waiting to take over. We drudge to work, drudge to shop, drudge to home. No cars, no planes, no personal anythings for us. We are drudges.

They? They can eat Wagu beef every day, drink, party, afford sex robots and fly everywhere and drive and own things.

    • I would note that they are nuts, and that what they want may bear no relation to what they will get.

Take that one billion. That’s maybe three times US population.

There is a thing that they would need to persuade Americans of: That the solution to that inequality is not for the US to wage war against the PRC, India, Europe, and reduce the world population to a tidy equality with the Americans. No foreigners, not chance of reaching even a billion any time soon.

They have not persuaded the Americans of this.

They have not even persuaded the Americans to commit /any/ mass murder for the sake of someone’s fancy equations.

Mass murder is hugely expensive, and to the extent Americans are persuaded of anything, it is on the basis on the lie that the costs will be small, affordable, and far away.

They think they have persuaded Americans, largely because they are theory obsessive, and cannot really predict anyone who is not theory obsessive, or who is not tied into mainstream academic culture.

They’ve made themselves crazy with malice, and Americans pick up on the malice.

  4. The fact she said it would galvanize a healthy society into demanding not only her resignation, but also demanding her prosecution as a traitor.

  5. Apparently the transcript of that event has now been changed from “population” to “pollution”.
So… there’s frenetic work trying to coverup in the litterbox.
I think she’s not smart, but trying desperately to sound like she is.
Every time I see her mouth I think of her friend Willie Brown.

  6. So one of the opposition’s conceits is that they are genuinely good, maybe even the best, when it comes to long term managing of human behaviors, and that the management ambition is even achievable.

Suppose that this is genuinely a speech error that anyone could make, and that she absolutely has no ambitions to commit mass murder.

The problem for the ‘address muh climate change’ community is that the logic of their models really does point towards mass murder. It really does look like the models could have been intentionally developed to falsely justify mass murder.

If they were genuinely good at managing human behavior over the long term, they would realize that there are behaviors that /they/ need to strictly avoid, because if they do them, fewer people will listen to them.

The nitrogen ban is exactly such a mistake. The evidence for nitrogen having a serious negative consequence was always sketchy, and greatly amplified by scholarly telephone.

Conversely, it is also understood what synthetic fertilizer did for agricultural carrying capacity, and robustness of that industry.

Just throwing it in on top of the other environmental requirements made the whole set more suspect.

We question specifically whether the nitrogen ban would have any positive results.

If the evidence is sketchy, and they do it anyway, they look generally less concerned about our welfare.

Not abandoning it, to preserve credibility for the other environmental programs, makes those other programs look a little more callous, and a little more on par with the sketchiness of the nitrogen evidence.

This is very parallel to the messaging mistake with covid and BLM. BLM preventable deaths weighed more heavily than covid lockdown preventable deaths makes both activities look more arbitrary, capricious, and unsupported by any real evidence.

If anyone were genuinely good at managing the long term of human behavior, they would understand that that you should never lie, that lying costs credibility, and that loss of credibility always screws you over worse with the people you are trying to manage. Eat the short term costs of telling the truth.

  7. Ever notice that the population reduction zealots never include themselves or their famlies in the planned reduction. Bill Gates wants others to reduce their population yet he still lives and has had to date 3 children. If Bill was serious he would not have had children and why is he still alive. Lead the way Bill.

    • Oh yes Greg, it’s one of those constants throughout history, and these people are terrible students of history.

  8. “Gaff”: When a politician accidentally tells the truth.

  9. This is called a Kinsley Gaffe and yes, she means it. Killing “undesirable” people is a constant of those on the left, and I’ll remind you of Bill Ayers holding a meeting:
I want you to imagine sitting in a room with 25 people, most of which have graduate degrees, from Columbia and other well-known educational centers, and hear them figuring out the logistics for the elimination of 25 million people and they were dead serious.
    link

At that time, America was aprox. 100 million people, so they were seriously discussing the elimination of 1/4 of the population. While the “reasons” for the elimination might have changed, the left’s obsession with removing the ‘undesirables’ hasn’t.

  10. A cult that worships death rather than the Creator.

  11. My money’s on Freudian, AKA a Kinsley gaffe, as noted.
I reached the conclusion long ago that these clowns* hate the human race and their goal is to reduce it in number so that the eloi can enjoy themselves with the carefully controlled morlocks laboring to keep them in their pleasure domes.
That’s the ones that don’t want to simply eradicate humanity altogether.

*”These clowns” consisting of commies, socialists, watermelons (“Green on the outside, red on the inside”), and anyone belonging to the Frankfurt School, whether or not they ever heard of Gramsci, et al.

    • Drang, with talk like that, you’ll be joining us deplorables on moar better lists. Welcome, brother.

  12. All- Thanks for the comments, and yes, I ‘saw’ the transcript got ‘fixed’ from population to ‘pollution’… fixed… yeah, right
