Veterans, make sure you check this out BEFORE you hit 65!!!
Tricare for Life (TFL) vs. Medicare Part D.
You may already have TRICARE For Life (TFL). Or perhaps you’re eligible to transition to this coverage soon. Either way, you may have questions about your TRICARE prescription drug coverage. For instance, you may wonder if you need to have Medicare Part D, Medicare’s prescription coverage. You don’t need Medicare Part D to have TFL.

This has always been a confusing issue, and way too many don’t know what their rights/benefits actually are. Take a couple of minutes to read the associated article and if you know any vets, point them to this!
Thanks in advance for your assistance!!!
NOW you tell me.
Having been able to enroll in the US Family Health Plan was fortunate, especially the looks on the faces of people trying to flog Part C when they realized that my coverage is as good as or better than anything they can offer…
Ed- Sorry…
Drang- Yep!
sigh… Way too late for me – I’m 76 & have only the VA for care.
As far as I’m concerned, there’s nothing wrong with the VA care. $8 per prescription, you’re not going to find that on Medicare part D drug coverage. And the Medicare part D doesn’t cover a lot of drugs, like inhalers for instance. Medicare doesn’t cover those at all and some of them cost $500 to 600 a piece.
Monday, through the VA community care, I’m getting a heart procedure done that the last time it was done, the hospital charge was $140,000, of which the VA paid about 22 grand and I didn’t have to pay anything.
Link does not work. Have another?
Moses- Sorry!
Mike- Agreed!
Marc- It should work, I just tried it and it went to the newsletter.
I’m 10% VA disabled and about the only thing I pay for is prescription co-pays.
I had a knee operation and the VA/Tricare paid for it all.
The only downside as far as I’m concerned is the wait time for referrals.
Kurt- Yes, that is an issue… sigh
