Busy, busy…

Doing alpha reads for folks…

What if…

OSHA went after cowboys? Sadly, I could see something like this coming out of that bureaucracy…

  1. I hope they never see that… It’ll give them ideas.

Reminds me of our fire “service”.
Talk about “saving” people , as long was we save ourselves first.
Talk about how dangerous firefighting is, but we mustn’t take risks.

No wonder the numbers are falling. The young men who are attracted to danger and the doing of things that others can’t, find that what they bring to the table is neither valued nor respected. It has become a self-serving organisation, not one that serves the community.

  2. I doubt it’s the same picture, but I recall seeing a 1971 or ’72 rendition of the OSHA* cowboy at the steel company I worked a couple of summers. (The warehouse would move 4′ x 8′ x 3/4″ plates via overhead crane, with clamps on the top edge. We never commented on just how useful the hardhats would be if the clamps failed.)

The steel company is long gone, along with the jobs. Too bad we still have OSHA. Sigh.

    ((*)) Brand new agency. Whee.
