Democratic Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro used public funds to train dozens of overwhelmingly liberal social media influencers on how they can get their audience to vote in the 2024 election, according to documents obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation through a records request.
Shapiro directed the commonwealth of Pennsylvania to pay thousands of dollars to host a day-long “Democracy Summer Camp” on July 25 to instruct people with large social media followings on how to get their audiences to vote and how to identify “misinformation” on the internet, according to the documents. The DCNF obtained a list of 43 influencers the governor’s office invited to attend the publicly-funded training and, upon review, none of the influencers favored Republicans and roughly 70% had an explicitly liberal social media presence.

It’s like the bubble on the left has lost all pretense of reality and common sense, and has become such an echo chamber that nothing is penetrating? Not the hurricane relief issues, not Israel’s situation, Russia/Ukraine, the inflation, and crime issues in America, nothing is penetrating… And then there is the usual Dem spying, infiltrating, and lawfare, HERE.
And now the ‘port strike’ has mysteriously ‘resolved’ until January… Resolved…yeah, right. The can got kicked down the road again, just like the CR was kicked until Christmas. What is going to happen when all these things come crashing together???
IMHO, it’s gonna be UGLY, regardless of who is in charge. Re the port issues, are we looking at another PATCO situation HERE? Granted the ILA isn’t a federal union, but automation is coming to ports, ILA or not… Remember, most major cities are three days from anarchy when the food runs out. Then what???
Folks, I don’t have any good answers, but I will say this. Go VOTE, I don’t care how you vote, but get out there and vote! That is a right that we enjoy, and it’s going to take a lot of folks to overcome the illegals that are going to be voting! The irony to me, is that most years, barely over 50% of the eligible voters actually vote! That is pathetic!!!
Living where I do, I know a number of lefty sort of people — and I have cousins in Scotland who also do. The lefties seem to all share one characteristic: having determined an end (whatever it may be, though it’s always some form of Socialism/Stalinist Communism) they simply have no morals or ethics at all as to how they get there. Any means will do, so long as their personal objective is met.
When you expect to bring in the Utopia, almost any price is worth paying….. as long as other people do the paying.

And remember kids, every time you hear the media or the Democrats (but I repeat myself) spout off about defending “our Democracy”:
1. It’s a Republic, not a Democracy.
2. Democracy is the tyranny of the majority*, ie two wolves and a sheep deciding what’s for dinner.

1. Democracy and Republic are the same concept in different languages. One is Greek, the other is Latin. That is all.
2. Democracy is how you change who is running the country, without having a war. Without Democracy, you have the kind of “Republic” that we see in North Korea, China or Venezuala. “Republic” is a word meaning “ of the people”. There is nothing in it to say that those ruling on behalf of the people must be elected by a popular vote.
3. You have rules, restraints and protections for minorities. You call them your “Constitution”. Congratulations, you have what every other Democratic country has. Please don’t try to tell us that every country with an elected government and a set of rules… is mob-rule with neither rules nor restraints, nor protection for minorities
Americans have a lot to be proud of. You don’t have to pretend that the rest of us don’t know how to run a country, in order to justify that pride.
The “automation” in the ports seems inevitable, and as an automation engineer I should see no problem with it.
I’ve seen automation raise wages, and increase productivity and quality. And employment.
However, if all the cranes are made in China, what embeds would be in this automation? What security risks would be present?

Sundance over at CTH was noting that most (all?) of the affected ports are largely foreign owned, with significant amounts of Chinese ownership. As he put it, an American automated port owned by the Chinese would be run (and/or controlled) by Chinese workers. Security risk? Oh yeah.
Other countries forbid foreign ownership of their ports. I think I know why we don’t. Grrr.
Yeah, burn police stations down, sometimes with people inside? Ok if it’s a mostly peaceful protest against the facist popo. Enter the Capital to protest election fraud and you’re labeled an armed insurrectionist, and sentenced to multiple years in the federal hotel@.
Whatever a Democrat does is legal. Whatever a Republican does is illegal.

The Hatch Act is federal – AFAIK, it doesn’t apply to state employees.
I presume most states have their equivalent, but I don’t know the details of them.

They thought they had a critical mass, and could pull everything off, if they simply seized the day. They were wrong. Because their convictions about theory, and behavior, are fundamentally incorrect in several ways.
So, they thought the die was cast, and all they need do next is wish really hard, and they would get the rest of their desired behavior change. They did, and what happened was not what they desired.
They still think they just need a little more verbal trickery, a little more wishful thinking, a little more abuse of office.
There are a bunch of people in various state and local offices, or employed by, who are just bad people, who will keep doing bad thigns so long as they are employed in a position of trust or responsibility.
Some of them are merely go alogn to get alongs, and would correct visible behavior, if they will be punish for not doing so.
Others need to not be in supervisory positions.
Anyway, cleaning things up is gonna be a long difficult and perhaps unrewarding journey.
There are SO MANY laws at both state and Federal levels that it’s a virtual guarantee some were violated by this action. Doesn’t matter. The criminal left has proven repeatedly that they are above the law.

Was checking out the Payroll Protection Plan payouts by zip code for covid the other day , on I think it was Pro Publica a week or so back, some of the most wealthy farmers were neck deep in the gov’t trough , seems like everyone from wives to cousins to sons, daughters , in laws, etc were on the payroll at some point and needed to miss work due to covid . Was surprised to see a few of my acquaintances getting around 27k each or so , cause their wives who do the books once a month had a positive covid test, Trump flags a flyin in the yard . Crazy world we live in these days , some how I always miss the sign up clipboard for the gov’t bennies and gov’t payouts , my little V.A. money would hardly buy a new 3/4 ton every two years , guess I missed the “vagina lottery” by not being shot out of the right birth canal. Yeah yeah I know…don’t cuss the farmer with your mouth full . But you know what , it’s a real pisser to roll into town , and see the little green signs that honor Susie Farmall for making state semi finals for the 2018 40 meter dash , yet not one for my son who completed the nuclear propulsion school at Goose Creek S.C. , with an attrition rate of 4 or 5 out of a hundred make it , nor any signs for the Iraq War vets that he graduated with , that came back alive , some fucked up to lesser or greater extent , some not at all .
