There is a new sheriff…

In town!

Scott Pinkster nailed it in one sentence… This election was won by French fries, garbage, an assassin’s bullet & a dead squirrel.

And the economy, stupid. It’s ALWAYS the economy!!!

Arizona and Nevada can fiddle the vote totals all they want, but it will make no difference for anything other than local politics.

I was actually surprised to wake up yesterday morning and find we had a winner, because I’d gone to be by 7pm, choosing to not play the doom and gloom game.
Trump also won the popular vote, the first time since W in 2004, I think. And yes, the electoral college IS important, because that keeps NY, CA, OR, WA, and PA from controlling nationwide elections!
Kamala didn’t ‘concede’ so much as vow to continue the fight in her public speech from Howard Univ. So, I guess we’re back to the lawfare of 2016-2020 again… sigh
But at least this time the Pubs have the senate firmly in hand, and while we won’t know for a while, the house is still in ‘play’, if you will. The next 2.5 months could be really interesting, but I truly hope not!

  1. I see China Joe has told the DOJ to curtail efforts to prosecute Trump. If that doesn’t tell you everything you need to know about the political nature of the lawfare attacks against DJT, I don’t know what will. Also I expect in the next week or two China Joe will pardon his sprog and bag man.

  2. Just spare a thought for those of us who are stuck for one reason or another in the solid blue states…

    • Rent a storage unit in a rural community in a safe state / location and put some emergency supplies in storage in case your location goes sideways.
It sounds like Chicago is kicking off, and when the alien invaders’ free money stops, they will probably go off in other places as well.
Keep your head up, eyes out, and your stuff where you can find it in the dark.

  3. Realized I hadn’t been back in a while, then realized that the RSS feed on my blog, the one I use every morning to know who’s posted something I want to read, hadn’t updated for your site in 5 weeks. 😒

Anyway, happily back. Pleased with the election results nationwide. Here in Washington state nothing good ever happens but I’m semi-stuck (parents in their eighties 20 minutes north of me, doing a Masters’ degree to boost my retirement which would be pointless if I promptly left the state), etc. One of these days, Alice.

In other news related at a minimum to Old NFO, the last EP-3E is being retired from its intelligence gathering role. Some nice pictures and a nice writeup.

  4. There are some other explanations of the loss, such as factional fights inside the Democrats, and that American academics catastrophically burnt their credibility with Americans the way other academics are burning their credibility with other populations.

There’s also joke explanations like that around 15 million Biden voters died of Long Covid during 2021 through 2023, because they were sent out during the 2020 protests, instead of following the ‘flatten the curve protocol’, and eating the 10k cost in a year’s worth of shooting deaths.

Or that Trump’s warp speed was clearly a mass murder conspiracy, and those tens of millions of Democrats were killed with ‘vaccine complications’, and covered up. (Yes, yes, I understand that both joke explanations are not how any of this actually happened, but…)

  5. Arizona is still fiddling a steal to the extent that it can with statewide contests. The national mandate was too big to rig.

  6. When the left is in power they do whatever they want. They ram things through using Executive Orders, back room deals and plain and simple criminal misconduct. When the GOP is in control all we hear from the left is “bipartisanship”, “reaching across the aisle”, “cooperation”. And the GOP is stupid enough to go along with it. That MUST change. We can NOT allow the left to survive. Trump needs to gut the Federal government and clan house or all we will get from him is a 4 year pause in the road to destruction and hell for America. This term is likely the last chance to save America. If the GOP screws this up I doubt they will ever get another chance.

  7. All- thank you for the comments, and I can’t disagree with anybody. Hereso- actually, they are extending some of them into 2025, because I realized they did not have a manned platform To quickly respond, outside of the three baskets they are currently using for the Triton MQ-4.

  8. First thought is that I’m not seeing any of the MAGA-types admit that they were wrong when they claimed that the Democrats were going to steal the election.

I’m glad that the result was clear, and that hopefully the new administration can get on with business.

Unfortunately, I expect that many of you will be disappointed, and that the swamp will not be drained. What you are likely to get , is same swamp, different alligators…… and the new gators will blame the old gators for nothing really changing

Pardon my pessimism, but I’ve seen it happen too many times. All the best….. Peter.

  9. Peter, the casual term is Margin of Fraud. If you win big enough they can’t commit enough fraud. Add to that the fact that the conservatives were out in force, with their lawyers, actively looking for it on election night. No more of the “file a lawsuit after the election is already over and have it thrown out for mootness”.

Republican lawyers got a court to intervene when the Democratic party in Pennsylvania tried to prevent Republican poll watchers from seeing the vote counting.

With all the various groups lined up to react immediately (Louder with Crowder, the Federalist, the Republican Party, etc) marginal fraud actors most likely did a risk benefit calculation and figured out that they couldn’t get away with it.

Several states (all red states) reformed some of their voting laws to prevent the kind of cheating that happened in 2020 (can you say “late arriving ballots without postmarks”?

I too am pessimistic about much getting done but I think that the Republican party can see that they have the support of even more than the margin of victory for legislative issues that Trump did by EO in his first term. Immigration: remain in Mexico, asylum law claims, birthright citizenship, E-verify could all get passed and strengthened. The military: Congress could pass legislation banning much of what the military adopted by EO or rule regarding sexual deviancy and the government’s role in paying for it. Education: Easy enough to pass legislation regarding federal grants and school choice, even if the DOEd can’t easily be dumped or if getting rid of it would have no practical effect on education policy. I’ll stop there but I can think of lots more things that Congress could work on and have public support.
