Whew… What a couple of weeks…
I made a promise to myself that I would ‘give back’ to the writer’s community by reading folks novels/stories as an alpha or beta reader. And I do that…
But, I didn’t expect to end up reading FOUR novels and a short story in the last couple of weeks!!!
I’m sorry I was a little longer than normal in my responses, but that was a lot of reading. I don’t do editing per se, but more of a continuity type read, e.g. MacGuffins, hanging plots, etc… and catching the obvious misspellings… Or at least I try. And I DON’T do grammar.
Not my thing… or punctuation… I just put commas at the end of my book and tell my editor to put ’em where she wants them,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Anyhoo, hopefully I’ll be back to working on ‘my’ novel today, and keep plugging on that for the next month or so to get it finished! I know I’m behind, and I apologize, but the back issues, and ‘life’ caught up with me.
Four books in a couple of weeks … that is hard on the eyes and harder on the attention span. I don’t think I could handle that many story lines in such a short period.
I’m re-reading A STRANGER IN THE WOODS, a book written about the an individual who stayed for 27 years in the woods full time. No job – he lived in the woods. By himself. Even in the winter. Interesting reading.
jrg- Was that up in the Northeast? I seem to remember something about that.
Remember – no good deed ever goes unpunished…
