Is getting what they voted for…
Zohran Mamdani has only been the Mayor of New York City for a month, and on his watch, at least a dozen homeless people have died in the freezing cold after Mamdani implemented a policy prohibiting the clearing of homeless encampments and forcing sheltering. Now trash is piling up in the city, and the streets aren’t getting cleared.

But according to Mamdani it ‘couldn’t be better’…
Those scenes remind me of Italy when the garbage strike went on for a couple of weeks over there in 2010. Literal two story tall piles of garbage, the stench, and the rats. OMG, you didn’t even want to drive down the street with the windows open, either the stench or the rats would get you. But at least they weren’t killing people…
I wonder how long Mamdani is going to last? Much less his ‘administration’. I saw that he’d apparently appointed a former inmate as the new head of corrections for NYC. One wonders how ‘that’ is going to go…
Oh well, I’m west of the Mississippi and don’t have any family up there, so I’ll happily sit down here and watch the meltdown continue. I think the Big Apple has a few worms in it now. Just sayin…
I have some (not a lot) sympathy for New Yorkers who didn’t vote for Mamdani, and hope they can escape, but when the choice is either Mamdani (Full on Communist) or Cuomo (Communist light), NYC is going to go down the toilet. The question is not how long will Mamdani last, but how long will it take NYC to recover, if ever.
Like you I’m West of the Mississippi and East of the left coast, pass the popcorn.
I just hope the MSM and public are watching what will likely happen over the coming months. “This is Socialism. This is what happens even when Americans are in charge of Socialism”. A teaching moment and maybe wanna-be Socialist – Communist leaners will understand the downsides that occur with Socialism. I’m sure the defenders will deflect and blame others but we already know that is baked in the cake.
Thanks for the post sir.
I have never been to NYC, but have seen the various Mayors over time ruin it and clean it up. It seems a cycle. Now this one will ruin it bad. The various Dems Governors in NY State have been bad for the most part.
Across the country most of the Dem Governors are bad and Dem Mayors of big cities are bad. The Dem party has gone radical and nothing is getting better. People and business are moving out to save themselves to Red States and safer cities, but in many areas people do not want them and the growth.
One thing I did not include is that MSM will not indicate what I wrote. They are only writing what the DNC tells them.
“I think the Big Apple has a few worms in it now.” What do you mean “NOW”?? I’ve had relatives living in NYC for a long time, there have always been worms in that apple. It’s just that the worms have either been at a low enough level to be tolerated by the majority of people, or they’ve been bad enough the good folks have taken corrective action at the polls (electing Giuliani, e.g.).
And what do you want to bet that when Mamdani fails, we hear the ever-present chorus of the left wail, “That wasn’t real socialism, it would have worked if not for the capitalists!”
Saboteurs! Breakers!! Kulaks!!!
But never, ever Communism’s fault
“Escape from New York” was not supposed to be an instruction manual.
Just socialists doing socialist things.
Expect him in response to this manufactured tragedy to call for a new homeless bureau that requires lots of funding and he can fill with his adherents to get them nice paying jobs. Not to actually solve the homeless problem mind you, but creating a lot of well-paid positions for progressives paid for with tax dollars.

Blue city franchise
Have relatives living in NYC. Per their responses on family calls, etc. there is no difference in day-to-day life so far. They don’t see anything to worry about. Don’t know what it will take to get thru the fog.
PS all of them are afflicted with TDS and consistently vote Democratic as that is the party of freedom.
New York City’s grifting environment has reached the point where borrowing is the only way to continue the grift. It’s all due to ignorance, and true to the whims of ignorant citizens, a Communist was elected mayor. I feel for those that can’t escape.
All- Interesting takes on NYC. Tom, you DO have a point, it’s the ‘level’ of worms…
