Could get ‘interesting’ in any number of ways…

DHS Secretary Mullin raises the possibility of pulling CBP and customs officers from airports in large sanctuary cities, citing lack of cooperation with the federal government and funding refusals. International arrivals would be unable to clear customs at those airports. “It’s something we’re looking at,” Mullin said.

Markwayne Mullin is coming out swinging, no question!

So, Boston, Philly, NYC, Chicago, Seattle, SFO, LA, and, if Spanburger has her way, Dulles could lose their customs services. Which would severely impact the airlines as they would have to find somewhere else to clear international travellers.

Can you say Florida and Texas???

I knew you could. The other thing this would do is affect the types of aircraft the airlines could use on the international routes when they have to add 2-3 hours of extra fuel to reach a ‘cleared’ airport.

It might be time to look at your hole card if you were thinking about travelling overseas anytime soon…

Just sayin…

And one other thing, while I’m thinking about it…

WHO leaked we only got ONE of the F-15E crew back? WTF? Did nobody ever hear of OPSEC???

Nothing like giving the entire friggin country a license to headhunt one guy! Thankfully, he was recovered yesterday, apparently in a fairly sophisticated rescue. And it was very involved to keep the Iranians unsure of where exactly he was located.

Sigh…

  1. ZH had an article penned by Larry Johnson , ex cia extraordinaire . He claims the rescue of soul number two only occurred because he was a Colonel with super secret knowledge that had demanded to backseat the flight . Johnson also implied the mission was really about getting enriched Uranium etc and so on . Larry Johnson , too much Tom Clancy for me . I guess he is implying that a lower ranked person , would’ve been left behind , and insinuates the whole mission was a decoy . Dude’s a nut. I was pretty damned impressed by the whole rescue . Most of the time a ham sandwich is just a ham sandwich .
PFFFFFFT (fart noise ) I am not an airedale , but I do have scars on my head from running into planes in the hangar bay .

    • Bosun@0638:

The planes are the big grey things with letters and numbers on them; they will not move out of your way no matter how loudly you yell at them.

My scars are from immovable overhead gear.

Bravo Zulu to the rescue guys.

      • Yeah , well when you’ve been up for two or more days , stuff happens . Sometimes Ya get the twofer hammer , the one where you trip on a tiedown chain and twist your ankle , then do a spin move into that sharp corner where the wings fold up . It Hurts Man , Ya’ll making fun of Me , I’m not that smart , ask my Wife . Carriers suck , only one , never another one again . People freak about and admire “the floating city” , I cried tears of joy when I walked off that “modern marvel “.

        • Bosun:

Dude, I’m just making a funny, no offense meant. Your job was hard and dangerous. I was talking with a BM while we watched a tug put a strain on a line. When the line parted, his reaction was interesting. Jebus!
After one hour of sleep per night for three nights, I started seeing bats and rats. So, I feel your pain. Those tiedown chains don’t have any give.

          • None taken Dude , not at all . Just BS’n , Hope the boss here ain’t mad at Me

    • Zerohedge has a decent chance of being under significant pressure to have some propaganda that will turn things around for Russia. Regardless of whether propaganda alone can do anything for Russia’s strategic situation.

I personally doubt that we can suddenly ad hoc something of this scale that is secretly driven by a lot of convoluted thinking. Convoluted thinking that does not reduce to a simple conclusion might usually be hard to act on quickly. IE, sometimes the paranoid ‘real truth’, no matter the credentials, is a patient who is maybe not being treated.

  2. There’s a really stupid and offensive joke that maybe Oklahoma had a Jew somewhere, who arranged for Mullin to effectively send business in the direction of Will Rogers international airport.

(But, seriously folks, US international airports are not completely fungible, and I have trouble imagining a sanctuary city such that Tulsa or OKC are the places to reroute to.)

I mostly am prejudiced against international travelers, and leap to the conclusion that discomforting them might be an objective good in of itself. This obviously has a bunch of indicators that I am in the wrong.

  3. “Did nobody ever hear of OPSEC???”

To the left it probably gets assumed to be an acronym that expands to something like Oregon Public Service Employees’ Collective.

  4. All- Sigh… Yeah Boats, carriers ARE a different beast, and yes, planes have tiedowns AND sharp thingies…

    Bob- Point!

    Ag- Sigh…

  5. The wife, 5 years AF Comm, and I, 12 years SAC,have been shouting OPSEC for months. Even some of POTUS stuff on TV should not have been said.

    • Yes , Dude has no governor control between head and mouth , and that truth social bs , needs to stop , no I am not on social media , but every news feed in the world is it seems . His latest seems that he believes he has already achieved regime change , Huh ? I’ve worked for several wealthy guys post military , who grew up wealthy , they’ve never been told “No” in their entire lives .

  6. On the OPSEC thing-
Does EVERYONE need to know how our SEER protocols work?
How that high tech satellite phone works?

I know they’re high on getting him back and want to brag, but do we have to tell everyone how things work?

    • Whatever happened to WWII “common sense”: “BE SMART, PLAY DUMB!”
