Is really in charge, and ‘where’ are they???
Granted the Pubs are doing their usual infighting, as they always do, when they ‘could’ be pulling together to get bills through over the Dem’s objections, but no…
We’ve been discussing the fact that there is really just a ‘uniparty’, with no real difference between the two sides anymore. None of them really care about us peons, down in the bottom of the pile.
But this comment, from one of our chats kinda ‘captured’ the current situation, if you will-
The real issue here is that wealthy left-wing activists have captured control of the democrat party, the MSM, and many financial and other institutions. They are not interested in the Constitution, the law, or what the average American wants. In their creepy little totalitarian hearts and minds, they intend to impose their ideological views using and/or twisting the system to gain control of the system. This is an internal enemy with massive outside support unlike any we have faced before; our political system has few if any protective safeguards.
He does, IMHO, have an excellent point! The other thing we’ve been discussing is the sheer amount of money being spent on ‘local’ races at the State level, and how much of that money is coming from out of state!
Some estimates of some races are talking about $100 million dollars so far on state races. That is just insane! And it takes us little folks out of the picture even more, since whomever is elected will ‘owe’ their loyalty to the money people, not to the actual constituents in their district or state.
We used to ‘joke’ about the best representation one could ‘buy’, but today it looks like that is actually going to be true. Except ‘we’ aren’t the buyers. It’s the out of state/big donors…
When you add in the DSA, the muslim apologists, and the others, and the MSM protecting some of those folks by not reporting on their issues…
I don’t know what is going to happen in the next four months, but I ‘think’ we’re going to learn some ‘lessons’, probably including some we really don’t want to learn. Will it be too late?
I don’t know…
Your thoughts?
Key positions have long ago been targets of foreign influence, and they might not be what you think. For example:
Secretary of State
This position oversees elections, and ballots.
I see a shooting war in our future. We are more divided than in 1861. Prepare to participate or, if conditions warrant, hide out.
Unless a dose of common sense strikes Washington, I think one is possible at some point. But their run up to the Civil War began with the Nullification Crisis of 1832. Personally, I feel more like we’re at about 1850. Remember, the shooting over slavery started in Kansas in 1854.
Priced in long ago, and basically some people were prematurely speculating that the thing was solved, and that they did not need close attention to local and state politics.
South Korea basically just finished disproving the hypothesis that Biden was not a CCP proxy as the CCP understood it. The CCP was encouraging the fuck ups of 2020, through influence within the Democrats, and within academics. (Quite a lot of professionals are going to need to rethink their choices and strategies.)
The potential for a shooting/hot civil war is lower, not higher.
During the Obama years, there was an illusion of election integrity, and with it an illusion that the communists were the strong horse. This made violence quite a bit more practical, because the get alongs thought that the costs of supporting the violence were low.
The legal theory of the law profession in 2020 was obviously invalid, but lawyers are specialist enough that the way they phrased things made it seem more plausibly valid to them. However, in 2024 this contributed to one idjit deciding the matter. When Crooks shot Trump, Americans were left with the choice of picking a side. “If it does come down to violence, who do we want to back? Which violent people are the safest and most conservative betting strategy?”
The communists lost that judgement in the eyes of sufficiently many individuals. A lot of Democrats went over to Trump.
People are somewhat going ‘the debate’, or ‘Harris was irregular and terrible’, or ‘Jill backstabbed Kamala because Kamala did not know her place’. Barring the true insiders convinced that they needed a noiser drum circle for tinkerbell.
The timing I saw for the change was after the shooting. The debate was late June, the shooting was early to mid July.
The election was won or lost in a few days after the shooting, and it had nothing to do with how Harris campaigned.
If you think that the nation’s processes must be ordinary, then the Presidency has some ceremonial or ritual importance, it is a theater for the magical thinkers of the political world. If the bureaucracy of the United States is sound enough, then the executive does not need a competent person in the presidency for functional wars to be waged.
The two ideas driving the single person led executive is a) external warfare in absence of a completely competent and responsible military bureaucracy b) internal irregularities.
Again, the time line is first the declaration of independence 250 years ago, then the articles of confederation, then the US constitution. The civil war and the emancipation proclamation are closer to 150 years ago. The executive power of the US constitution presidency is explicitly intended to cover the case of civil war.
Biden was explicitly saying that F-16s were more important than AR-15s for the case of internal warfare. REgardless if he was a senile puppet, this is disqualifying for the case of a President during a civil war.
If he or Harris were to be puppets for a faction during an internal fight, what can we say about the thinking of that faction? Swalwell was very key in the leadership of the Democrats in the House at that time, and Swalwell talked of using nuclear force to bring Oklahoma to heel. Beyond the moral issue, and beyond what it says about his theory of power, Oklahoma is where the air force maintains some of their nuclear bombers.
The ‘trust the bureaucracy’ case for a civil war in America requires the officers have briefed Congressmen and Senators well, but then many of them are too stupid to understand. However, it is possible that the military staff studies are also deficient.
Cole Allen, Tyler Robinson, and Luigi Mangione are a tiny minority of university students ignorant, crazy, and evil enough to think that they have a winning strategy in violence, and to want to act on it.
There are definitely a lot in absolute terms, but low in percentage. To fully appreciate the ‘missing murders’ in working through these potential explanations, you have to understand what the universities are telling current studntts.
Our forebears were quite successful at driving Loyalists from America during and after the War of Independence. Can their approach be adapted to drive the DSA and their ilk away?
If memory serves, the first time outside money became an open issue (as in lots of people aware of it) was in 2008, with the Obama fundraising problem, and more so when Harry Reid ran for reelection the last time, and out-of-state money went to his Republican challenger.
Since then, it has become common for “foreign” money from, oh, say, Texas to be requested for a race in Virginia, and CA funds to go to TX and FL races.
No, I don’t have a good, legal solution.
Walter Capps D-Santa Barbara) died in office 1997. His wife, Lois, assumed office. Lois was an RN of many years, but absolutely rabidly for abortion. Hers was not a popular position.
But the DNC threw an absurd amount of money to her. She was elected and reelected. In her first full term, DNC jerrymandered to greatly increase the size of her district. They had cut a deal with two neighboring districts in which those Reps agreed to surrender portions of their districts. So very rural ag lands many miles distant were now in the same district as a large city.
That she-beast was every bit as horrid and dispicable as cankles felonia pantsuit.
I am in the CO 8th Congressional District. The amount of PAC money being spent just in the recent Democrat Primary is mind boggling. Last general election some $80 million was spent in a district with a population of 760,000. Did each resident give $105 each in political contributions?
What’s odd is that the DNC is so broke that it’s asking creditors NOT to bill until after election season. And yes with a MA area code, I’m ALWAYS getting text message spam from alleged Democrat sources begging for races in Texas, Florida and other Red areas assuming I’m a dyed-in-the-wool Blue Democrat. Basically, I just block and report them as spam.
Which is, by the way, illegal, according to some former Senate staffers who have a popular podcast (Ruthless).
In the 1990s carpetbagger Michael Huffington (yes, the same name you think) flew into town, spent lavishly, and lost in the campaign for elected office.
He spent $2.3 of his own money. How much more from donors and the national party? At the time it was the most expensive campaign in the nation.
He did everything wrong. Carpetbagger, talking down to the hick constituency, a very obvious attempt to buy votes.
All that he did wrong then is today the approved tactics of a well run campaign.
All- You raise excellent points! Bob, I didn’t ‘think’ about that, but you could be correct. However, as TXRed said, right now we don’t have a ‘good’ legal solution… sigh
r- He was definitely trying to ‘buy’ the election. Romney did that in Utah… sigh
I think that the good guys will win in the midterms. How’s that for glass half full?
Add in the fact that the GOP is a wholly owned subsidiary of the DNC and it’s no wonder nothing of importance has been accomplished.
I’m sorry. I have to reply to that.
That’s nonsense.
It’s also a form of defeatism and excuse to do nothing.
I’m a refugee from the People’s Republic of California. When my mother died and I left, 2 of 11 Trump votes in the precinct were gone.
For many years I was “represented” in Congress by either Zoe Lofgren or Barbara Lee. Lee was Ron Dellums’ chief of staff when she passed information about the Grenada operation to the Cubans. At the time, Dellums was on the House Armed Services Committee and the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. Dellums was an open Socialist. Lee had been in the Venceramos Brigade in Cuba, and by 1977, two years into her tenure as Dellums’ chief of staff, had already been in Cuba “many, many times”.
What we’re seeing in the news has been patiently built over many years and now feels confident enough to take off the sheep’s clothing.
In other news, the last C-2 Greyhound flight.
