But I guess it’s a sign of the times there…
In a press release dated July 31, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport stated that if pupils fail to return to lessons without explanation once the holidays end, this can in individual cases raise the suspicion of forced marriage or of being prevented from returning from abroad.
Baden-Württemberg’s summer holidays will last until September 12.
The ministry has provided schools with an emergency form titled “Forced marriage during the holidays – How can you, as someone not directly affected, help?” produced by the women’s rights organisation Terre des Femmes.

I can’t help but wonder what, if anything, is being done in France or England. But I’m betting not…
When my granddaughter overheard this last night, her comment was, “That’s…icky and just wrong!” And the face she made was one of absolute disgust.
But it did give me a chance to talk about her about how lucky she is to be living in America and not under muslim rule. And how she has to be careful around men older than her, as she is coming of age. There has already been one issue with the girls her age (10-12) that are cheerleaders for the football players, about one ‘older man’ complaining to the school about the girls running around in booty shorts at the games (which were under their skirts).
Funny how the school has these very strict rules about dress, but short/tight cheerleading outfits are fine… sigh…
And it’s gettng cooler so the kids are now wearing leotards so that will hopefully stop ‘that’ particular issue.
Three more days, and I get a reprieve!!!
