Daughter is recovering, in pain, now that assorted body parts are making themselves known again. But she is getting better and more movement back. Arm and hand are still warm and functional, with grip strength coming back!
But… the cats decided since it was getting cold, to do the zoomies in the house! That continued, including literally running over the two Labradors, until one of them finally took offense and growled rather loudly. Suddenly, no more cats!!!
And because I got asked, pic of the toeses…
And she finally admitted the color was because it matched her PJs… sigh…
I’ll be taking the daughter to her first follow up this morning, so this should be interesting, since it’s with a PA that had ‘nothing’ to do with her surgery… sigh
Oh yeah, and it’s cooling off, and supposed to rain today. And the contractors are here ‘fire hardening’ their house with new Tyvex cladding and Hardi Board panels over all four sides.
It’s going to be NOISY!!!
Don’t forget the blue roof.

Singin’ in the Rain” a hilarious film, two odd bits about Debbie Reynolds I’ve
1) She was a passable dancer but young, and was having trouble keeping up with Gene Kelly and Donald O’Connor (two of Hollywoods to dancers at that time). Mr. Kelly was a bit of a jerk and was really hounding the young starlet. Ms. Reynolds wanders off set on a break to regain composure and who wanders by but Fred Astaire who spends time to buck Ms reynolds up.
2) In the scenes where Debbi Reynolds is supposedly singing offstage for Lina Lamont (Played by Jean Hagen) the voice is Ms Hagen’s. Ms. Reynolds is a lovely singer but the style and tone that piece called for worked better with Ms Hagen. So we have Lina lip-syncing to Miss Seldon (Reynolds) who is actually lip-syncing to Ms. Hagen. Of course, ALL musical shots in those days were lip-synced when shot, as the sound of the 35mm cameras (Especially the Technicolor ones) made a mess of any audio.

First post op appointment, especially for ortho work, is to assure stitches are ok, no incisional infections etc. Actual evaluation of the surgery for success comes later.
It varies. Locally, it’s 14 days for the first with a PA, though I have a PT “evaluation” appointment 3 days post-op.
(I’m a frequent flyer. Torn quadriceps tendon on one knee, arthroscopic cleanup on both knees, now a planned total knee replacement. The ortho staff know me by sight. Sigh.)
Three cheers for the fiber-cement cladding. Oregon Dept of Forestry did a spot for the news-creatures and said that such siding is imperative if you live in an area where wildfires are a thing. (And perhaps, even if they’re not…)
Only one (known) house went up in our 55K acre fire, though some seldom-used cabins may no longer exist. The fire is now in mop-up, and the rain is helping.
We redid our siding a few years ago, replacing and/or covering Hardie panels with ship-lap fiber cement planks. A wrap-around deck was done after the house was installed, without consideration of water splashing. Panel ends soak up a lot of water, plus 25 years might be the lifetime limit of such panels. The wrap-around deck is gone, and the new installation takes more note of splashing water.

RC- Today turned out to be a PT check Yes, Hardi Board will soak up water on the edges if it isn’t ‘sealed’ or protected. They put a metal shield over the edges to protect them.
