This one is for all those who served and flew in the military…
We may be old, but we DO remember what it was like to climb into those birds and go do our jobs…
You might need a Kleenex too…

Glad I have a fresh box of Kleenex. Got all dusty in here all of a sudden.
It takes something special to do what y’all do.
Damn, I got something in my eye.
Hell, you should go up in ’em whenever you can (and have the money). The B-25 Mitchell is incredibly LOUD and most pilots have major hearing damage, so bring your shooting ear-pro! The B-17 is like a flying couch – so smooth… I can’t afford the P-51 Mustang. 🙁
I saw one of my old “type” birds in there, third or fourth one in, It was an R4D-8 and God how I loved that bird!!!
Wow.
MC- Nope just sheer stupidity 🙂
DB- Yeah
DC- I have!
Ev- Yep saw them and they brought back a memory or two!
BP- This one is one of the best I’ve seen!
While neither confirming nor denying that I’m as old as I am, it’s sad to think I knew the names of all those aircraft.
In both old-style (pre-1962 Navy) and Air Force designations.
And Old NFO, I took a ride in an original P2V7 from VP-94 LZ04 just before they picked up their P-3s.
Don- That must have been in the early 70s out of Belle Chase…
Pretty neat seeing Bob Hoover climb up on that Spitfire.
Thanks for posting this, and thanks for the “Kleenex Notice”.
Aren’t our military aircraft some of the prettiest? {Even WartHogs 😉 }
There are 3 I’d like to ride in before I die – SR-71, an original Cobra helicopter, and a Pappy Boyington F4U Corsair ……………… of course, give me a chance, & I’d be on a CH-53 again in a heartbeat! 😉
Thank you, Sir!

Thank you for the video, made possible by those who flew and fought. I would like to link this to my private blog, with your permission.

Trail- Feel free
WSF- You’re welcome
RN- Yeah, did here too…
*A* kleenex?
More like a hankie, both sleeves and part of my shirt front.
If you’ll excuse me I’m going to call Dad (USA, ret) and tell him I love him.
Glad he’s on speed dial ‘casue I can’t see the numbers.
Thanks. Done.
You was right~ Needed the kleenex
This has been viewed by my grandson and myself about six times in three days, it brings a smile to his and my face about the ‘planes!’
and the wv is interesting: avation
he is almost three and lives in San Diego.
Stretch- Yes, tell him we ALL appreciate what he did!
Trail- YW
SS- Yeah
Earl- Glad I could help out 🙂
Forever Flying–Bob Hoover’s biography. I have read it more than once.
