Win some, lose some…

Well, the background check failed…

In spite of all the lies, fabrications, cherry picking of data, etc. it didn’t get the 60 required votes!

Interestingly enough, the Prez went on TV and accused the gunnie of lying…  Pot meet kettle is all I can say.  He (and the administration) pulled out every stop, trotted out the kids, etc. but could not lie their way to success simply because the REALITY is that the ONLY people affected by the expansion of the background checks would have been law abiding citizens… Plain and simple…

And it was actually funny because Joe Biteme was pouting in the background… LOL

From the Chitown Trib…

John Whitesides and Larry

Despite emotional pleas from families of victims of the shootings in Newtown, Connecticut, and broad public support, the plan to extend background checks for sales made online and at gun shows failed on a 54-46 vote, six short of the 60 votes it needed to clear a procedural hurdle in the Senate.

It was a stark reminder of the gun culture’s hold on America – or at least its politics – and a display of how each party has used Senate rules to effectively block legislation even when it has the support of the majority.

At the White House, a visibly angry Obama said he sympathized with Americans who were trying to make sense of it all.

“This was a pretty shameful day for Washington,” said Obama, flanked by Newtown families and former Representative Gabrielle Giffords, who was severely wounded in a 2011 mass shooting in Arizona.

“I see this as just Round One,” Obama said. “Sooner or later, we are going to get this right. The memories of these children demand it.”

And GunsAmerica has an open letter up on their site about the anti-gunners shills who are coming out on the forums and other places, definitely worth the read!

Dear Friends,

Please be aware that  there are what we call “Bloomberg  shills” lurking in the comments of gun blogs and forums at present.   It has been going on since before the election, and we first noticed it as far back as our January 8th, 2012 article “2nd Amendment Voters Should Vote Ron Paul.”   At first it seemed like fun because they got a lively discussion going, and many of our articles have over 400 comments just because of a few anti-gun comments peppered in by a shill here and there.   But as more and more of them have come in, we have begun to realize that it is better to delete them.  The anti-gunners have a plan, and that plan is to make gun people look stupid, heartless, and separate from the values of mainstream America.   A recent “whistleblower” post about the Boston Marathon explosions  is especially troubling.   If you are part of a gun blog or forum, please don’t allow this post to spread, and beware that more attempts to make 2nd Amendment defenders look bad are coming.

As most of us have come to understand,  this crisis has gone far beyond politics.  We have seen an unprecedented and  sustained attack on not just our guns, but the entire pro-2nd Amendment and avid shooter culture itself.  We are being sold to the public as stupid and selfish people who don’t care about the safety of children.  I got a forwarded Facebook post from an 86 year old family friend  and staunch Libertarian yesterday that said “The NRA Doesn’t Represent Me.”  If only he knew what  a fool he is being played for, but if you read through the lines, it is pretty clear that Bloomberg’s media campaign is working.  The medicated masses are buying the story, because it is being presented in social media environment where people have already let their guards down.

Go HERE and read and heed… They ARE out there, and continuing to try their damnest to show us in a bad light…

  1. It’s executive order time for 0bozo. The dictator will start killing a lot of trees with his pen.

  2. Good advice NFO. I’ve taken to deleting any comment that even borders on this kind of thing, especially the anonymous ones. I had one guy who made three attempts on my Boston post. I had to watch those comments carefully for a while so I could hammer his butt quickly.
