Is it just me???

Or is anybody else noticing that the Boston bomber appears to be gussied up in the photos that seem to be populating the MSM today??? I saw one pic that looked like a HS graduation with a rose in his lapel.  It seems they are determined to portray him as being as harmless as possible (just like Travon Martin)…

And apparently all the lawyers are champing at the bit to take his case, saying they can get him off due to the lack of Miranda warning…

And any bets whether either of them had a gun permit???  So how would have a new background check law have stopped them???  And lastly, 200+ rounds fired and they didn’t take them both down???

And another piece of history bites the dust…

The Navy Annex was never intended to last long or, for that matter, to house human beings. The 1 million-square-foot complex, perched on an Arlington County hill overlooking the Pentagon, was designed as a temporary warehouse but pressed by wartime needs into service as offices for the Navy and Marine Corps.

Seven decades later, including more than 50 years as Marine Corps headquarters, the Navy Annex is coming down.

It also housed Navy Personnel and Detailing back in the day…  The first time I ever came to DC to visit my detailer to try to get a set of orders (and failed), I got LOST in that damn rabbit warren of wings/floors/hallways blocked off… It was ‘almost’ as bad as the Pentagon

  1. Their lack of gun permits is already being trumpeted as reason for “stronger laws” … I must be stupid, because I can’t see how making it even more illegaler would have changed that.

Re: the Navy Annex, never had the ahem pleasure. Sounds like I didn’t miss anything.

  2. Mass is a heavy gun control state. Anybody who argues that gun control makes people safer, especially in light of the Boston Jihad Bombing, is adept at twisting the facts.

  3. Excuse me, but did you say that the first time you came to the Navy Annex to get your orders, it was during World War Two? And did you really get pressed into helping build the Pentagon, too?

  4. I expect a “heartstring” play – it’s about all they have to go with. As for violence as an excuse for gun control, honestly we need look no further than Chicago. Heavy sigh. The “antis” will simply wait for “the next one” that will surely come and give it another try. Time will tell.

  5. Rev- Good point, and no, you DIDN’T miss anything (other than a rabbit warren with NO @#$% SIGNS!)

    Opus- Good point!

    Murph- Shaddap… 😛

Bill- On the money, and Chi-town IS the ‘good’ bad example!

  6. they have confirmed that no one had a Mass gun permit, so this is all another Mass gun law success story. Thank You MA for your gun laws that protected the terrorists by insuring there were few if any folks that could fight back as they cowered in their homes with their families hoping to get through it

  7. They were talking on the boobtube today saying that they didn’t have to Mirandaize him because they had so much evidence on him that they didn’t have to read him his rights. Only if they were going to question him in court or something like that. He has confessed, too. The problem is what to charge him with.

  8. I remember navigating the Navy Annex trying to find some Missile Defense Agency offices several years ago, before they bailed for Belvior and Huntsville.

  9. JD- Thanks for the update!

CP- Interesting… So they are willing to leave a LOT of evidence on the table as fruit of the poisoned tree…

  10. WN- Yeah, the Annex kinda became a catch all for a bunch of folks, not just Navy… Which didn’t HELP a damn bit…

  11. Ah, the Annex. Remember being on a LDO/WO Selection board there and sitting in the tank to vote. How do you select the best when the point spread of all the selectees is out to three decimal points?

  12. 1. At least we don’t have to listen to the little prick talk.
    2. He also needs to be prosecuted for attempted suicide with a weapon of insufficient caliber or..
    3.Poor muzzle control.

  13. WSF- True!

Mikey- About all you Can hope is somebody actually knows 1 or more of the people…

    Fuzzy- Yeah… Sigh

Drjim- Detailers are the folks that actually send sailors and marines to their next job/ base.

    Mike- concur with all!!!

  14. 200 rounds….lucky there were no civilian injuries. Have they not heard about fire and maneuver? And they have the pretty armored vehicles, too.

A couple of questions…..How did the boys get the explosives they used? and what did they have for guns?

  15. PE- Yep, THAT is a miracle, and no idea, but it wasn’t legal… but the new laws… Oh wait…

  16. The Media has moved from its initial job of causing PANIC! and CONFUSION!! to obfuscation and exoneration. I’m sure the little bastard’s trial will be moved to avoid “prejudice.” Expect it to be held in Amherst with a jury of academics and sociology majors. He’ll walk.
And while I’m on a cynical streak … The Ft. Hood shooter (I refuse to use his name) will not be convicted until late 2016. Obama will NOT pardon him but “allow” him to serve his sentence in a Muslim country … where he’ll be released on 21 Jan. 2017.
