Joy and sorrow…

I cannot express how sad I am at the shooting that happened at WNY yesterday, and how pissed I am that once again good folks are dead for no apparent reason.  We’re still waiting for the full list to find out if we’ve lost yet more friends.  Thoughts and prayers go out to those families who’ve lost loved ones today.  Please keep them in your hearts.

On a joy side, PPP is now back to being PP (Pissed off Paramedic), she delivered a 6lb 14oz, 19 inch long baby boy at 2156 last night PDT.  Haven’t had a chance to talk to her yet, as I’m out of pocket, but I did get a text. Both are doing well, if a bit tired.

  1. Congratulations on the new little one! They keep you young, or they make you feel old. Take your pick.

Prayers and thoughts already inbound for those who died or were harmed yesterday. Too bad the son of a bitch committed suicide by cop.

  2. Prayers and healing thoughts for all affected by the Navy Yard Shooting.

Congrats on the baby boy. Babies are all miracles. And worth every bit of trouble and effort.

  3. Congrats to you and PP!
My thoughts and prayers are with everyone involved with yesterday’s news.

  4. OUR Navy was attacked yesterday, by one of our own, who should have NEVER been allowed in. The only bright spot is that we don’t have to put up with a %&&^$# “Holder Trial” that lasts 4 years and never gets the Death Penalty. May the Worthless Shooter’s Soul Rot in Hell.

But Congrats on the Little One!

  5. Contrats on the wee one.

My question… how does a guy with a history of gun violence(shooting at people, too)and a record get a secret clearance in a federal government secure instillation, and how does he walk in with loaded weapons (more than one)? And does his history have anything to do with his discharge from the Navy? Let’s privatize more security stuff.

    • Upon reading my comment, I meant for the last sentence to be sarcastic. I think the hiring government entity should do the security check and not send it out to a company that has thousands to do.

  6. Awwwww…new babies are so cool. Particularly when you aren’t the one staying up all night with them.

An apparently mentally ill whack job who somehow walked by security with a shotgun. And somehow this is my fault as a gun owner.

  7. My hearty congrats to PP and the newest member of the Old NFO family. Healthy is the key.

As to the sad news — there is always that.

  8. I’m still trying to figure out how this loser got a job with a clearance with all the red flags in his history.

Not surprised at all by the piss poor reporting from the event.

  9. Kudos indeed regarding the little one. I know that he’ll grow up to be a good man with the example that his Grand-dad sets.

  10. Congrats to Grandpaw and family! Welcome hugs to little man! Miss having that new baby smell around cowcamp, can I borrow’m?

  11. Congratulations!!!

I’m so happy for the new grandchild! (And I hope he and “mom” continue to to do well.)

  12. All- Thank you, I’ll pass along congrats to the new momma. Don’t know the answers to WNY…
