It’s not just us…

According to a Gallup poll just released-

“Almost half of Americans, 49%, say the federal government poses “an immediate threat to the rights and freedoms of ordinary citizens,”

gallup poll

This is the fourth survey conducted by Gallup on the issue, and it’s interesting to read the article HERE, and see how the numbers have changed since 2003.

The three biggest issues of twenty-four?

Too many laws/Government grown too big, violation of freedoms/civil liberties, and gee, what a surprise, gun control/second amendment violations!

And gun control/second amendment issues are the most frequently mentioned specific threat…

When one looks at the low approval ratings for damn near ANYTHING or anybody government related, it’s ‘worrisome’ at best and downright scary at worst. More and more people that I talk to are fed up/frustrated with the bread and circuses attitude and lack of transparency and selective enforcement of laws coming out of this administration. The continued push to gut or at least minimize the military, along with the continuing social experimentation being forced on the military have made many veterans wonder who’s side the administration is really on…

And when things like THIS are done in a murder trial to keep Fast and Furious out of Brian Terry’s murder trial, it makes one wonder what else is still being buried/kept from the public…

Sigh…

  1. The other side of the coin is people just keep buying the technology they KNOW track their activities. Have to have the latest I phone / lap top / ‘smart TV’ that tracks their contacts and activities. The most they do is duct tape their built in camera on their computer and call it good.

The media seem to have given up on concealing their biases too. They ignore so so much – really becoming useless, its entertainment rather than hard information.

  2. j.r. is correct.
And as has been said before; the real issue isn’t the politicians or the media, it’s the common American who keeps putting 98% of their incumbents back into office while complaining about the Congress (or other local group of politicians as a whole) to the degree that any one group has a single digit approval rating. It boggles my mind.

  3. I think that Pres. Obama knew about and approved of Fast and Furious as did Sec. Clinton. There are a number of people between them and impeachment and the truth will never come out. So why trust them?

  4. Since TPTB all have to cooperate for this much corruption to persist, it’s obvious that there’s no help coming from inside (or outside) the Beltway. In fact, it’s rather the opposite. Only the teat-sucking infotainment “reporters” are surprised that the most popular Presidential candidates are non-politicians.

  5. What is disturbing to me is that only HALF of those Surveyed feel the Federales are a Threat.

Any guess how many of them will vote for Hillary? 70%? 80%? 90%? Because we should know by now that most of those who don’t think a Democommie Big Gooberment is a Threat are those who BENEFIT from that type of Gooberment, while the rest of us have to suffer from it.

  6. j.r./Craig- Agree with you both!

    LL- Good point!

    Rev- Good point too!

Les- I don’t know how many will vote for her, but probably most of them…

  7. Those in power will look at that survey and shrug, or laugh. They don’t care so long as their comfortable and well compensated position is secure. So how do we make them uncomfortable?

  8. WSF- At this point, I’m not sure… We’ve tried voting and that doesn’t seem to have made much of a difference…

  9. Oy vey. Erg. I’m being nice and watching my language. LOl.
