Therapy…

I’m into the third session of therapy, and not having fun…

But, I didn’t expect to. As many have counselled me, DO THE @$#%^ THERAPY…

I’m working on it, I’m working on it… But I’m quickly beginning to hate the stationary bike! That sumbitch is nothing more than a  torture device! I’m getting an hour of therapy a day, plus exercises to do at home, but I can tell there is improvement (once it stops hurting for the day).

And ice IS your friend!!!

A couple of bright notes and short videos for your enjoyment…

First up is the Sinese Foundation and the WWII Museum in New Orleans, and one of their honor flights.

Next is one of those truly feel good stores, of which there seem to be fewer and fewer. A girl and her horse…

Hope you enjoyed them…

  1. Hang in there oldNFO. My uncle had full knee replacement a few years
ago and was back to skiing when winter rolled around. He was in his early 70’s and still skis today. Get well soon!

  2. The hardest part of PT was not slacking off after the therapy sessions were over, I did not do such a good job of that.

I started to watch the Soaring Valor film, but I am going to have to return to that one after the allergy attack is over. The child and the horse was very good, and I suspect there is way more good stories out there than the media care to report on. Sadly, they look for the worst in people because that sells.

  3. Bummer! Try it and hope it works (PT)! My hunting partner/neighbor is just a couple years older than me and had bone-on-bone in his left knee and needs a replacement. My older sister had a hip replaced last year and it was also b-on-b, but her therapy was mainly just walking it off, and/but now she’s pain-free.
My experience with PT for my busted-up finger was that it was a bunch of hot-wax hokum and electro-zap fake-science and was mainly authorized extra insurance billing. Instead of surgery they loaded up the charges and billed for time that in the end was totally useless, so I have a skeptical view of PT.

  4. You’re a rock star, my friend. The only easy day was yesterday. Today is always a struggle.

  5. Irish- Thanks!

John- True, we’re human, and unless we are pushed, or push ourselves, we tend to be slackers… sigh

Rev- There is that! Working on it!

NC- I’m sure there is some of that built in, but they are making me work, so I’ll continue as long as it’s beneficial.

LL- Yeah, right… But the struggle continues! I’m not giving up!!!

  6. drjim- Just repairs… Meniscus and MCL. Plus some arthritis clean up.

Grog- I have one of those with beans. But they want me to use ice for now to control the swelling….

  7. Every day should get easier and easier, and eventually you won’t remember just how much it originally hurt.
My wife got a bunion worked on and didn’t do the PT afterwards. She’s paying for it big-time.

  8. Loved Soaring Valor and sent it on to Dad. He enjoyed it too.

Gosh you are becoming a curmudgeon, I could send ya a jaw breaker biscuit, that’d make ya forget all about the knee…

  9. Stationary bikes are torture even when they aren’t being used for therapy.

  10. Drjim- Yep…

WN- That’s the light at the end of the tunnel! 🙂

Dammit- That’s great! 🙂 Just send gravy with it!

    PH- Possibly a true statement!

  11. One day at at time and you will be place kicking for a pro team. And thanks for the videos. I used them as Facebook fodder.

  12. CP- Good!

    Ed- Thank you!

    Rick- Agree!

Mad Jack/SoCal- I could see your comments, but they didn’t transfer, sorry!

  13. Ice is particularly helpful if topped with clear amber fluid from either Scotland or Ireland.
