So… I got roasted by my boss and about 20 co-workers Saturday night… But I think I got the better end of the deal…
And no, I’m not telling what went on… What goes on at the roast, STAYS at the roast… 🙂 Seriously, it was great to get together with these folks for one last time, and I’ll miss ‘most’ of them.
Then yesterday I met Murph, Proud Hillbilly, Stretch, Wandering Neurons, and John…
Anyhoo, we did Hooters by the Dulles Expo Center, and I gotta admit Murph got me. He told them it was my birthday… dammit…
After a great lunch and conversation, we adjourned to Wally World for Toys for Tots.
We pretty much covered all ages from three up, boys and girls, and I’ve got to admit I was surprised at how much the 3/4 basket of toys cost. We split it up, and then started looking for a Toys for Tots drop box…
How many people does it take to find a Toys for Tots drop off???
More than we had… sigh…
Thankfully the Holiday Inn at Dulles Expo Center was still taking toys for them. We talked to a couple of very nice young ladies, and they put the toys in the manager’s office with others that guests had donated.
It wasn’t much in the big scheme of things, but we all left smiling…
Don’t know when or if I’ll get back to the area, but this was a nice way to leave. Good folks all, and I’ll miss the whole DC area blogging/shooting crowd.
Looked at the stuff in the shopping cart, and I see that Toys for Tots will accept ammo cans, that is the way to start raising the children! But it does raise the question of what caliber for toddlers.
That ammo can is used to keep the reloads for the Minion’s Fart Cannon, one of the gifts in the cart.
I missed that! My photo interpretation skill must be rustier than I thought. I told one of my younger family members that I got my start in photographer when you used to have to stick your head under the black cloth at the back of the camera. I got a blank stare in return. (sigh)
Now own to the next phase of your life. Can we can start calling you Tex?
One chapter ends, another begins.
Well done, and good luck.
I’m happy I was able to make it. It was certainly an enjoyable time. Enjoy Texas and the lack of all this crappy D.C. area traffic!
Nice to hear that all went well. Congrats, and now on to biggerbrighterbetter things!
Ya better come back and visit!
Ref the first photo: Now that’s what I call party favors! What’s that? Not everyone at the party got them? Oh well…
Ref the second photo: Party favors, Part II. 😉 Seriously, congratulations.

All- Thanks! Movers just left, and my ass is dragging. No connectivity since I shut off the net today.

Bittersweet days?
Congratulations.
It was fun. Won’t be the same without you around here any more.
And Happy Birthday.
Had a great time at the event. And as Murphy’s Law says: Happy Birthday, it won’t be the same around here.!
Glad I could add to the insanity.
Thanks to the interstate you’re not more than 3 days away.
Thanks to the internet you’re right around the corner.
You will be missed around here! Safe move.
Thanks all!
