Packing out…

Two and a bag(s) drag…

Movers are going to be here in a hour, and I’ll be putting an end to twelve years of working out of here.

I’ve always been circumspect about where I work and what I do for ‘reasons’, but this cartoon pretty much says it all…

Garfield cartoon

Except it was usually MULTIPLE holes… sigh…

One thing I am proud of, is that all the work we did over the last twelve years, we had ZERO fatalities, and ZERO major injuries to any of the folks.

Not going to say we always got all the ‘toys’ back… 🙂

It’s been real, and ‘most’ of the time it’s been fun.

Packing out… — 17 Comments

  1. New chapter in life.
Even if you’ve planned well, there will be the “unexpected”.
Almost three years for me now, and I STILL dream of work.
    Roll with it.
And congratulations, brother. Now, stay healthy enough to derive maximum enjoyment!

  2. There can be a lot of nostalgia with a bag drag. It’s not as easy as you think it might be sometimes.

  3. What they’ve said. Enjoy, roll with the changes, and remember that this is why you slaved for all those years.

  4. I agree with Greybeard. Been almost 18 months for me, and I still have “What if….” dreams about certain systems doing what they did best, which was NOT working.

Enjoy it to the fullest, and you know you have a standing invitation for lunch or whatever any time you get out this way.

  5. Enjoy your golden years. You’ve earned them. At least that’s what Admiral Halsey wrote about you in his memoirs.

  6. Retirement is the best idea ever. Have fun – if you pay attention you’ll never get bored.

  7. You can take pride in a job well done.
Now, on to the next full time position “Author”

  8. Hey Old NFO;

Congratulations on the retirement…it is well deserved:). Packing and moving is no fun….but the adventure that awaits at the end is worth it. Since you can become a full time Author, as your mentor Cicero said ” A room without books is like a body without a soul.” Keep on writing and look forward to seeing you down the road.

  9. Congratulations, now do not set to long. I did and had hart bypass surgery fifteen years ago. Now I play golf three times a week and shoot USPSA every month. Oh and write more books we are all looking forward to them. Good luck.

  10. Merry Christmas Jim, and hope there are many more to come! HELL, I ‘ve been retired from the canoe club for forty years and the LPG business for about five, and there are still not enough hours in a day to get all the things done I want to! Just keep plugging along! Have a happy, shooty life!
