Trying to get writing done…
Finished my course for CHL yesterday, shot 239 on a 250 qual. Nothing like bouncing a round off your ear to cause a flinch in rapid fire… Sigh… That was a 5 down shot…
Now it’s just a matter of mailing everything off and waiting 60 days…
Watched the end of the NASCAR race at Daytona, apparently the closest finish in history at Daytona, and the winner won by 8 inches, or 1/100th of a second… After 500 miles… So Denny Hamlin/Joe Gibbs Racing lose their car for the next year as it sits in the museum at Daytona…
Now it’s bear down and write. Thanks to all the folks who commented here, and on facebook too. Especially the lady readers, y’all actually gave me an idea on some exposition that will clear things up, and hopefully NOT detract from the story.
Go read the folks on the sidebar, they’re worth the read!!!
I shot about that when I got my first license. My wife shot 250… made a smiley face, then tore out the heart…. with a borrowed gun.
Why, yes, we DO have a good marriage!! Thanks for asking!
The car I saw sitting in the Museum @ Daytona still had the bugs & dirt on it, pretty neat!
I guess I did not have the sweet spot in my glasses lined up just right, ’cause I read it as, “bouncing a round off your car…,” My first thought was now that is a tough qualification course.
I haven’t been to the museum in Daytona in years, and I don’t know if it still the case, but back in the day the paint on the nose of the cars would be almost blasted away from the sand on the track. I guess they sweep it off before the race now days. Of course I have also seen the use helicopters to dry the turns after a rain, too. Good shooting for your CHL (and duck next time).
STx- Oh… Yeah, I’d be making sure I kept the relationship ‘good’ too! 🙂
Woody- Yep, bugs, dirt and all!
John- LOL, that would truly suck! I was wearing plugs instead of muffs, and it hit me right in the top of the ear… sigh…
CP- I remember that!!! In the 70’s it looked like somebody sandblasted the noses and windshields of the cars!
I am ready for the next book! Hurry up already. LOL
I shot 198×200 on mine…but who’s counting? 🙂
The important thing is that you got your CHL, of course. Congratulations.
One nice thing about GA is no shooting requirements.
Make with the writey-writey.
Fargo- Yes dear… 🙂
GR6- There IS that…
SPE- Youza boss, I be writin’ over here boss… ;-P
Wow! Sixty days! Sorry to hear it.
I got my first TN HCP (all renewals since) in under 2 weeks. Did my last renewal when I had to change my address on my DL.
