Wow…

Just… Wow…

A federal report released Thursday details a shocking turf battle that broke out when immigration officials blocked law enforcement agents from interviewing a person of interest in the San Bernardino terror attack last December.

Just one day after a radical Muslim couple opened fire on office workers at a Christmas party, the FBI asked Immigration and Customs Enforcement to detain the man later determined to have supplied guns used in the attack.

When Homeland Security Investigations agents went to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services office where Enrique Marquez and his wife were being interviewed, they were turned away, according to the report.

I truly have no words…

  1. As noted elsewhere in the blogosphere, “Progessivism is a mental disease.”

  2. Homeland Security Investigations, who knew this bunch even existed?

  3. “Homeland Security Investigations” is the new name for ICE Office of Investigations (since about 2012).
When CIS and the immigration part of ICE were both part of the old INS, the Special Agents could actually investigate frauds and either prosecute or initiate deportation proceedings against fraudulent applicants. Now that they’re two separate agencies, nobody does a real investigation of possible frauds, since CIS does not have its own Special Agents, and won’t let ICE/HSI encroach on its turf and screw up its approval numbers. That’s why I laugh (bitterly, to be sure) when they claim to be “vetting” the people who claim to be refugees.
But that’s what happens when policies are made by politicians who talk to each other instead of the people doing the work.
