House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said they were praying with the friends and families of the victims and thanked first responders. They both called for action to stop gun violence.
“Too many families in too many communities have been forced to endure the daily horror of gun violence. Enough is enough,” Pelosi said. “The Republican Senate’s continued inaction dishonors our solemn duty to protect innocent men, women and children and end this epidemic once and for all.”

At the moment, the Dayton, OH police have not released the name of the shooter up there. I hope they do the “one mention for public records then nothing” that some other departments practice.

Oh but if they have the letter of the law behind it, the government agents come for your guns and you resist and die they can hide behind that law. I’m thinking the loss of life might be greater here than what we have seen so far.

As I understand it, there WAS one guy (current/former Army, unsure on the details), but he was moving to get kids out of the line of fire.
Maybe it would’ve been better if he’d moved forward and capped the loser, but… I can’t get mad at him in this situation.

Is Walmart a no-carry establishment?
It is my understanding that Walmart company policy on carry is, that they follow state rules, except no open carry.
I live in the nearly communist state of New Mexico where our illustrious demoncrat governor has just passed some anti 2A legislation. Because of that Walmart in NM now no longer sells guns. They still sell ammo, but I suspect that that is on the way out too. Sigh.
The problem with that particular El Paso Walmart is it catered almost exclusively to Mexicans who shopped there legally after legally crossing the border, and illegals. Very few actual US citizens, except for some employees, as many of the employees were legal Mexican workers who crossed to go to work.
Why? Because the violence in Mexico is so bad they can’t shop in Mexico safely.
Thus… Very few, in comparison to most of Texas (excluding Austin) actual concealed carriers.
I’ve seen open carry in a Walmarts here in Michigan.
We were both shopping for ammo.
I’m not a fan, but if he wanted to get shot first, that’s his prerogative.
Once again, I highly suspect, and a couple hours after the incident seem to show it to be true, that if we only controlled the radicalized non-Christians, anarchists and far left socialists, we’d cut the mass shootings down to once every 30 years or so.
And, yes, it does seem suspicious that things are going so well for our President and then this happens at a critical time in the Dem debate cycle. Gee, I wonder what’s going to be one of the major topics of the next debate.

We do not now, and have NEVER had, a gun-control problem in America.
However, we have a MAJOR mental-health problem in America (which is aggravated by a culture of hostility).
The elimination of thousands of mental-health beds starting about 30 years ago did not eliminate the need for mental health care. It just meant we were gonna pay with blood and misery, not dollars.
I have yet to hear of a shooter who hadn’t sent off a LOT of signals that they were in need of an intervention. In some cases, such as the Parkland shooter, there were actually referrals made for an evaluation. However, as long as there are no beds there is no solution.
Meanwhile, political hate rhetoric continues.
