YGTBSM!!!

It appears the left and the MSM are ‘unhappy’ with the outcome of the shooting at the church in White Settlement, but there IS some pushback.

The USA Today is being criticized for publishing an opinion piece on Wednesday arguing it’s “terrifying” that some Texas churchgoers were armed when Jack Wilson jumped into action and killed a mass shooter before he could shoot anyone else.

Wilson, a firearms instructor who was a volunteer member of the church’s security team, has been widely praised for his life-saving response, but Arizona Republic columnist Elvia Diaz found problems with the situation.

Full article, HERE.

But the ‘kicker’, if you will is this statement…

In other words, he’s exactly the kind of man you want around with a firearm. But we know nothing about the at least six other parishioners who also appeared to draw their handguns at West Freeway Church of Christ in White Settlement, Texas.

And that’s terrifying.

Why? They stood up and went toward danger, both men and women. Did they respond ‘perfectly’? Maybe not, but they took action. Obviously THAT is what scares the columnist and others who have chimed in on this, happily pointing out errors of omission and/or commission…

The bottom line is TWO MEN DIED trying to protect their friends and neighbors at church before the perp was taken out by Jack Wilson (kudos to him). How many would have died if the ‘amateur’ security team hadn’t been in place and they had to wait on law enforcement?

Or is this really about the fact that Texas and other states are being proactive about having churches form their own security details, taking gun free zones away from potential mass murderers???

  1. Put her in a stressful situation and I’ll wager she curls up in urine-soaked ball demanding others protect her at the risk of their lives. Call me harsh if you will but the best use for a liberal like her is as a sandbag to protect those who would defend her.

  2. How about everyone that opens their mouth to criticize citizen first responders as opposed to critiquing them gets bundled up and shipped to the UK. They sound like they will fit in just fine there.

    • Thank you for the kind offer but we have a surplus of them already. Now, if you could set up an exchange scheme for those of us that support the first responders in exchange for their critics, I’d see that as a win-win.

    • Better idea. Swap them one for one with the folks protesting in Hong Kong (or the Netherlands and Germany and France).

  3. Hey Old NFO;

When your desire to support an agenda overrides your common sense…and there are a lot of people like that.

  4. Come on JL you could fisk that article all to pieces. The lack of critical thinking skills or people never ceases to amaze me. There are plenty of examples of official police response that results in death and injury to the innocent bystander. This did not even happen here. I think even the response by the additioinally armed members was pretty good despite the fact that muzzle discipline was not the best. The “trained” cop can be just as bad.

Of course not knowing where this person lives, presumably Arizona, she must live in a state of terror. I wonder how many people she encounters per day that are carrying concealed.

There are plenty of other comments she made that can be logically destroyed.

    • Houston – I do believe that she does indeed reside (she certainly can’t be ‘living’ with her hoplophobia) in Arizona – which is an open carry state. She must be in abject fear every time she goes out…………

      • Oh, it’s worse than that – Arizona is a Constitutional Carry state. (I wonder if she knows that?)

  5. So the response from the other armed members may not have been perfect, and that’s worth criticism? I guess we’ll hear criticism of less than perfect government actions in 3 .. 2 .. 1 ..

  6. Ms Diaz would prefer 10-20 bodies to lay on the altar of gun control. Fighting back empowers the the wrong mind set in her head.

    Be a noble victim!

  7. One thing that has not been brought up is. Do we know if any of the Concealed carriers were part of the Churches volunteer Security force? We don’t? Were they trained? If so by whom? It would be logical to assume that Jack Wilson volunteered to train members of a Volunteer Security force. If i was in that situation I would want a team of people I knew and trained to back me up in that situation and for when I cannot be there.

  8. The venal, corrupt, lying, smug, sly mainstream media would like to have promoted an anti-firearm narrative rather than the one that has gone viral. That’s all that bothers them.

The story that they’re faced with is the bottom line. The only way to stop a man/woman with a firearm is with another man (or woman) with a firearm. The police are there to clean up the damage and write a report. They can’t be everywhere, and they can’t protect you. But you can protect yourself.

That’s precisely the narrative that they despise. And you may be ‘deplorable’ for even bringing it up.

  9. Churches should be able to adopt their own policies about how they are run, defended, and theology. Nobody’s business but their own.

  10. All- Thanks for the comments and the ‘suggestions’… Can’t say I disagree. Houston- I have better things to do… 🙂

    Posted from my iPhone.

    • Agreed. That is why I only made a couple of comments on that piece of trash op-ed. Just have to remember I can’t fix stupid or change a liberal-progressives mind with logic.

  11. The other gun-totin inbred redneck bubbas (because Texas and guns, right) managed not to shoot anyone else. There were no crossfire hits, random bullets, stray shots. No one did a mag dump while spraying and praying.

In other words, all the ‘shooters’ in the church, except for the bad guy, were all more responsible, attentive, and accurate than most police agencies across the nation.

New York City? Half a dozen bystanders would have been hit. At least. And 7 cops? Each would have pretty much mag-dumped.

Los Angeles? Going by the two Asian-Americans delivering newspapers in a pickup, mag dumps, stray bullets everywhere, and still no ‘intended target’ hit.

    Atlanta? Same.

    Chicago? Yeah…

Broward County? Well, the deputies don’t shoot at all, at least they didn’t under the previous sheriff.

Dade County? Let’s hide behind a soccer-mom and her kids…

    Truly. The truth.

6 – 7 Seconds, from bad guy starting to shoot till it was over. Boom, boom, bang, dead shooter.

That’s the untold story. Defenders stood up, drawing fire, and terminated the dirtbag with one clean shot. Losing two people.. wait… Losing only one person to the evil doer. The other ‘victim’ was the evil doer, but he’s listed as one of the ‘two people shot to death.’ One defender down, one dirtbag down, no other incidental deaths.

The vast unwashed redneck gun-totin bible-thumping militia just outshot and outperformed most police agencies. And they were there on the spot at the time of the incident.

We can’t rely on the police, except to come after all the shooting is done, and citizens are better at shooting than cops. That’s the real message. And that message must be hidden from people, because the truth must be suppressed.

Hate the media. Hate the elites that want us unarmed and stupid.

  12. She clearly states “We know nothing” about the others who drew. Exactly. For all she knows they could hit all 10s while doing cartwheels. Unfortunately, knowing nothing never stops a liberal.

  13. What is with Texas?
I’ve been carrying in church (with the pastor’s permission) for years.
And now others do after I arranged some shooting fellowships.

  14. Ms. Elvia: Stupid is as stupid does, er, types.

Ed @ 1852: Good for you! (and BZ to ONFO for using a 24-hour clock).

Aside: I notice my dentist’s “No Weapons Allowed” window sticker disappeared after the nearby drug store was robbed. Some people are capable of changing their minds.

  15. Houston- Oh so true…

    Beans- Correct on all… Dammit

    PH- True.

Ed- Down here it is now legal. Used to not be.

Robert- LOL, amazing how that happens…

  16. Aren’t we glad that blogs aren’t news, just opinion folks, move along. I like the tales, opinion and for some strange reason non of those strange blogs, tweeters, or strange folks are picked up by me. Does seem to need a lot of magic to be an actor that never has a misfire that wasn’t part of a plot, nor a bullet that just missed. Magic, the illusions of media about everything, too many feeding off of things that are so awesome they are close to miracles.
