  1. That’s right up there with the old ‘water in the cell phone’ indicators that were always colored as if water got in the cell phone.

  3. I once programmed a machine with a button on the screen admonishing “Do NOT press this button”.
    If you pressed it, another screen appeared which required the supervisors password to clear.
    The guy I programmed the machine for asked me to disable it.
    It was taking up too much of his time. 🙂

  4. @Ed, your comment reminded me of the Big Red Switch which it was alleged, actually fired a non-conducting bolt into the main power feed of a IBM 360/91.

  5. Gravel trucks run around here without tarps, dropping rocks all over the place. Every one of them has “NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR BROKEN WINDSHIELDS” painted across the back.

    Well, according to the Vehicle Code, the *are* responsible, but I guess each time someone sees that and decides not to call the cops, they win…
