  1. “It’s not just the flu.”
Two years ago, the flu killed 80,000. Twenty years ago, the flu killed over 100,000, three years in a row.

The mean age at death of a Kung Flu victim is 75, and the median is well over 80.
Over half of those who catch Covid-19 show no symptoms.

They’re right. It’s not just the flu. The flu is much worse.

  2. I got six right, but I’m a trivia buff, so that might not count. 🙂

  3. I got the cat gut and the black box right. So that’s something I’ve got going for me.

  4. Since I finished reading your latest Rimworld novel and since I am now out of stuff to read, shouldn’t you be busy writing the next one instead of wasting time on the internet?

  5. Oh, God. My TI back in ’63 was right — I AM A DUMBSHIT!

  6. I didn’t get any of them right, and I think this is a deliberate attempt on your part to make me feel stupid and incompetent and bad about myself.

    I’m gonna tell.

  7. Well, I either got nine or eight right. If you’ll count “Red” for “Crimson,” I got nine.

The Hundred Years’ War lasted from 1337 – 1453, but most of the period did not see active combat.

The Russians used the Julian calendar at the time, which is about two weeks off from the Gregorian calendar that the rest of the western world adopted centuries earlier. The February Revolution that took out the Tsar took place in March, while the October Revolution that took out the Provisional Government that replaced the Tsar took place in October, by the Julian calendar.

King George VI adopted his regal name because Queen Victoria did not want any of her descendants to use the name of her beloved Prince Albert. This was part sentimentality — she was devastated by his early death and wore widow’s weeds for the rest of her life — and partly out of temper, as Parliament would not allow Albert to assume the title “King” Albert when he married the English monarch. If her Albert couldn’t be king, then no Albert gets to be king.

    • I’m no judge, but in my book you’re not getting off that easy. The world’s source of existing colors* does not list “crimson,” so it is therefore a unique color, as opposed to the totally pedestrian “red.”

No, do not refer me to the scientific color spectrum. Crayola it THE authority!
      🙂 🙂 🙂

Very interesting other info — thank you.

      • Pardon me while I blush crimson in shame. As the old TV show taught us, “Eight is Enough.”

  8. Oops. That’s what I get for trying to show off my brain power. The October Revolution took place in November, according to the Julian calendar.

    • I think you were right the first time. The October Revolution was in October (Julian/Old Style) but November (Gregorian/New Style).

  9. All- Thanks for playing along… And I AM working on the next books! Uchuck- LOL

    Posted from my iPhone.

    • Latest Rimworld is very very good. Thanks for another great read. Now, I have to go up and get the review posted. 😉

  10. Purple finches around here have a maroon patch on neck and chest. Not a bright red or crimson, like cardinal red, etc. Muted color. Purple Hearts Club of Hell’s Finches, Inc. They take over bird feeders and take lunch money from blue jays.

    • Same thing in my world … Though the sparrows can give them a run for their money. And the jays content themselves with the peanut feeder.

  11. I got a few right(6) and a few wrong (4), and I may or may not have lost a brain cell in the process…

  12. I managed 5. Ecuador, dogs, red, New Zealand, Orange. I’ll call it a win.
