Indoctrination…

Is why we are where we are today…

Why you may ask?

A far more troubling development, is how quickly a significant and powerful minority of Americans grew to believe that America is a fundamentally racist country and that white Americans are somehow uniquely evil by virtue of their birth.

<snip>

The short version is that American youth, since at least the 1960s, with significant acceleration in the 1980s, have been indoctrinated with hostility toward Western civilization in general, with the obvious corollaries of hostility toward whites, the nuclear family, Christianity, private property and men. Perhaps most troubling is the view that Western civilization and the aforementioned categories are uniquely evil and responsible for the lion’s share – if not all – of the world’s evil.

Since I’m old enough to remember the 60s pretty well, this is MY perception of what happened…

The ‘center’ of the progressive left, in those days, was Bezerkley on the outskirts of Oakland. This was also the time period when drug use was peaking among the young (primarily marijuana with some LSD thrown in around the universities). This was also when Haight Ashbury became a community based upon counterculture ideals, drugs, and music. The first head shop, Ron and Jay Thelin’s Psychedelic Shop, opened on Haight Street on January 3, 1966, offering hippies a spot to purchase marijuana and LSD, which was essential to hippie life.

The combination of the two led to protests against the Vietnam War, Selective Service, and the military. Many on the left ran to Canada, got bogus deferments, or claimed to be gay to get out of military service.

The upshot was that while there were patriots, most of them were going in the military to keep from being drafted, while the left ‘managed’ to stay in school, wangling more deferments, staying in school longer to get masters and PHDs.

They also found they could feed off the government trough during the day as ‘educators’ while protesting/getting high/having ‘fun’ with the students at night. They also started taking over the teacher’s unions… A bit of history on those, HERE and HERE. Note the Communist influence in the NY teacher’s union going back to the 1920s…  And then there is the NEA, link HERE. And a current ‘example’ of professors, HERE.

The NEA, among others has been a political organization from the git go… Witness what is happening today Chicago, SFO, and other major cities over restarting in person schooling…

Anyhoo… The left got control of the education system starting in the 70s, and began indoctrinating the children, first in colleges, then in high school, and now all the way down to first grade.

IMHO, the schools have been dumbed down, social passing is now the ‘norm’ (can’t have anybody fail), everybody gets a ‘participation’ trophy, etc… And they have been indoctrinated day after day about how ‘bad’ the US is, its history, its capitalism, etc…

And now they’re going after math as being ‘white supremacy’ if you want to get the right answers… sigh…

I’m glad I’m old and won’t be around to see what happens next… But I will also admit ‘we’ were complacent. We were working hard at our jobs, based on the ethics we were raised with, to do better than our parents. And by and large we did… the cost was that we didn’t pay as much attention as we should have to what our kids were being taught. And now we’re reaping that…

Indoctrination… — 13 Comments

  1. Yup, I was there with you. I did the drugs, though, and THEN did the military.
I had planned to add that the USSR was providing funding to major schools of journalism, but for some strange reason, links to that topic aren’t available. I guess it didn’t happen, or something.

HOWEVER, in a minor blow for freedom, the Sixth District Court of Appeals reversed a lower court ruling that denied an injunction to stop enforcing the Trump bump stock ban. The Court ruled that the interpretation of bump stocks as machine guns was in error, and directed the lower court to fix their erroneous ruling.
    Here’s the link:

NOTE: I ain’t got no use for bump stocks; only rich people can afford to fire on full-auto, but:
“SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED” is unequivocal language!
Therefore, this is a win for every American individually (and a few companies in the manufacturing business).

    • Oh, no, it happened. Along with the USSR buying whole colleges of international diplomacy and, well, the State Department in the 20’s and 30’s, so by the time WWII rolled around, most of our foreign policy was firmly in control of the Reds.

And, well, Communists, the real reason fully automatic and more private ownership of helicopters should be totally encouraged.

  2. And in another minor blow for freedom, the 9th Circuit ruled that the 2nd Amendment doesn’t protect a right to bear arms outside the house. I word it this way because maybe, just maybe, the Supreme Court will actually do their job. I’m not, for the record, holding my breath.

  3. I was 17 in 1967 . Seen the Vietnam Vets getting spit on when they came back missing an arm and a leg . A few years later Roe V Wade turned my stomach and pushed me the rest of the way out of the democrat camp . Sadly now in my “golden years ” I’m watching as the country is abandoned by Almighty Gawd and soon to be destroyed .

  4. One has to either weep — or laugh. Watching these idiots tie themselves up in knots with various hyphenated labels (what ever happened to the whole idea that we were all Americans) is entertaining. A bit of good old fashioned bible thumping red neck Christianity might go a long way, starting with Matthew 7:1-2 and Leviticus 19:15-19

I will call this out for what it is: deep evil and sin. Where’s the Archangel Michael when we need him?

  5. I will concede that if you actually want to invest in your kids, to give them educational opportunities better than yours were, to give them the tools for success, you home school. The workload isn’t that much worse than trying to fix what the public schools do, and you can avoid the ‘let people molest you’ stuff.

Possibly private religious schools can avoid the rot, but you need the same awareness of what is being taught, and confidence in understanding the right and the wrong of lessons. Basic issues, you get bureaucrats and mediocrities in every organization, and they will go with the ideas that are easy and seem to address the problems they appear to have. These people, now, are all vulnerable to the claim that diversity, inclusion, and equity are problems needing addressing, and to other claims about extremely destructive remedies.

If you can’t watch the instructors, and keep their feet to the fire when it comes to acceptable behavior, your kids will take unambitious scum as role models, and also be damaged in other ways. The difference between some of these people, especially the ones fresh out of school, and the Breen/Bradley ‘molesting kids to make them gay is good for them’ delusional sorts is much more degree than kind. They’ve themselves been raised to view being within the socialist ‘church’ as being of paramount social and personal importance, and have internalized self-damaging behaviors to fit in among the rest of the outer party.

Math is white supremacist being a notion whose evil is quite easy to demonstrate.

Every population has poor, and people who grew up in very difficult circumstances. So, no matter what criteria you use to define whitey whiteness, you will find people in both the white and the not white subset who have difficult circumstances, and want out.

Historically, some not whites have gotten out of difficult circumstances by getting an engineering education, and practicing engineering. Saying that these people are white is spitting on the whole idea that education access should not be restricted to whites only. The deranged humanities majors who fear math enough to come up with the insanity of ‘math is white’ do not represent these cohorts of engineers.

Math is a tool that can significantly ease or improve technical work. Including the construction of bombs, which are by far the best tool for spree killings.

If spree killings, especially at schools, are grounds for the profound violation of rights that ‘gun control’ is, then other violations of rights might be justified.

Another of these poisonously destructive ideas is that poverty or society are the causes of crime and terrorism. This automatically implies that people who grew up poor are security risks, and should have limited access to dangerous tools of every sort.

So, to careless minds, this implies that segregation and apartheid were good things, at the same time that they are telling white kids that they are indelibly white, and should more or less commit suicide.

Someone who hates themselves can be persuaded to kill themselves with harsh dangerously risky drugs. (Some of the trans drugs cause enough heart damage that I put them in that category, along side recreational drug use.) Someone who hates themselves is also easily persuaded to spree killing, or falling into depression enough to wait while people murder them.

If you instead homeschool, you can potentially provide someone a foundation for navigating the current difficulties.

And in some fields, homeschooling would be a better choice for /tertiary/ education. Or rather, self study. Attending university at all is a decision to be made carefully, with self knowledge, and discipline.

  6. Hey Old NFO;

Besides getting control of the education system, the same “Hippies” got control of the legislative process, Case in point Hanoi Jane’s husband Tom Hayden went from Hippie to a politician, and so did others and their influence pushed the donks left. We have several generations of kids mostly white that hate their country and their civilization and I honestly believe that they will screw their fellow Americans over if the Chinese come because they have been programmed since a toddler to hate this country.

  7. FO, I will submit the downfall began with our generations parents reading that pillar of insanity Dr Benjamin Spock. many may know him as the guy that proclaimed the parenting technique of spare the rod and spoil the child. I have a strong suspicion your parents were like mine, they threw that book where it belonged in the trash.

  8. All- Thanks for the comments, and yes, George, my parents DID throw that book away… sigh

    Posted from my iPhone.

  9. As a father of a black kid who started his PhD in math at 20?

The math is racist mantra is the shield of incompetents who are unable to teach. – And the unions that not only protect it, but foster ideology over competence.

  10. Jet- Excellent point and definitely true. I worked with a number of black PhDs at JHU-APL, including one from Ethiopia. Math was their way OUT of their situations… And they were damn good!

  11. “The left got control of the education system starting in the 70s,…”

No, they started back at the turn of the 20th century. There was a continuing decline in the level of knowledge that was being taught. IIRC, what was being taught to 8th graders in the 10s-20s is now considered to be advanced college level instruction. You can find tests on the web showing this. This was pushed by the Progressives, as they thought that intelligent factory workers would be a bad thing. Dewy was pushing for this starting in the 1880’s. Took a few years to get things in motion.

The textbooks were screwed up by the 60’s, from what I could see, compared to books in the school library.

  12. Both me and my wife are Californians that grew up in the 60s and came out of high school in mid 70s. I am from Southern California and my wife is from Northern California (Silicon Valley). We met at UCLA and after moved to Silicon Valley.

I became a Republican working my way through college. I was working in the Mexican slums of East LA and later South Central LA (Watts). I found the blacks in Watts on welfare and food stamps had more then I did while my paycheck went to my living and school expenses. I found welfare was a scam as most people were also doing other things to get money. It changed my view quickly as my family never had money.

Me and my wife bought a house and later the company I worked for promoted me and transferred me to Northern Virginia. We bought a house in one of the best school districts, but found the schools were poor in their teaching of our two boys. We went to the teachers, the admin, and the school board but did not get anywhere. They were teaching using a method that made no sense and they had a bias. We ended up tutoring our sons in all classes.

When our sons graduated they both decided not to go to college but to trade schools. This worked better for us and them as they make 6 figure salaries being in early 30s without high college costs as the trade schools have been paid. Both have homes, paid off cars, and large savings.
