Old school muscle…

74 Formula 400, fully built, short throw 4spd, disk brake and suspension upgrade. Didn’t hear it run, but obviously a LOT of work went into it… And a lot of folks stopped to look at it!

And just plain old school…

67 C-10, original owner still driving it. It’s had two paint jobs, but this is the original color. He admitted he did ‘upgrade’ the drivetrain to a 327 and a Powerglide. It’s got a few spots  he is cleaning up before he sends it to the paint shop, and a wiring issue with the @#$%% side lights (as he said). Oh, and disk brakes…

He shrugged and admitted it was a ‘little warm’ to drive in the summer, since it didn’t have AC, and he has a ‘new’ GMC as a daily driver… 🙂

And then there was this…

They are making no bones about where they stand! I just hope they never drive it in Dallas, Austin, or Houston…

  1. Well, if they drive in the Dallas area and I wind up behind them they’re gonna get a salute and a happy wave.

  2. Dallas and Houston going the way of Austin?
That’s “Weird” 😉 and I am mighty sorry to hear it. I USED TO like both towns!
1974 was a horrible year, maybe exceeding in horribleness only by 1973, the first year muscle cars were really castrated.
(I bought a ’73 Corvette thinking it would be much faster than my 1968 Olds 442 trade-in.)
Today’s V-6, 300-horse Mustang and Camaro will blow BOTH into the weeds.
But I’m awfully glad there are folks out there willing to preserve this old iron. Driving our 1970 ‘Vette Big Block is a pain in the ass.

    • Hubs and I have decided we like Fort Worth better than Dallas. It still feels like Texas.

  3. Bob- Thanks!

GB- Yep, down the toilet… Austin city council wanted to BAN BBQ in the city limits 2 years ago… Re the Vettes, yeah, all of them are a handful!

    WN- Neat!

    Sam- 🙂

  4. Wish I still had my ’70 Blazer K5. It would be worth a mint now. And in 4 low, that thing would climb a tree.
