Looks like ANOTHER northern Virginia school board has screwed the pooch…

Thursday night brought about a rather eventful Fairfax County School Board meeting, as a group of parents, many of them Asians and immigrants, charged that the school board was “racist” for vowing to appeal a federal judge’s decision when it comes to reinstituting merit-based admissions to the Thomas Jefferson School For Science and Technology, as Luke Rosiak reported for The Daily Wire. The moms, which included Indian-born Asra Q. Nomani, who is also part of Parents Defending Education, brought with them copies of Rosiak’s book released earlier this week, “Race to the Bottom: Uncovering the Secret Forces Destroying American Public Education.”

Thomas Jefferson is or was consistently ranked as the best HS in the US. It was purely merit based, and it took a strong recommendation from the teachers for children to be admitted. Friend of mine’s daughter got accepted, managed to do two years worth of college classes in the STEM side, and pulled a full ride to Virginia Tech on an Honors Academic scholarship, and graduated cum laude in two years. She’s now making six figures working for one of the oil companies as a scientist/engineer.

Even though I didn’t have anybody there, I still hate to hear what this school board has done to that once prestigious school to pay lip service to ‘diversity’…

  1. I fear for one granddaughter who has been an honor student since first grade. Now a high school junior, will she have an honest shot at a full ride scholarship for college? She wants the Naval Academy and is already a NROTC Ensign. She is blond and completely (per Ancestry.com) Caucasian.

    The flip side is a “minority” student. Unless of Asian descent, they will forever face the usually unspoken assumption they got a “diversity” ride.

  2. It’s always about bringing the upper level down to the level rather than brining the bottom upwards, innit?

    • Yes. Of course, you can’t fix stupid. All must be made to be equal.

      Paging Harrison Bergeron. Harrison Bergeron to the white privilege phone.

  3. Lowering the admissions bar due to political pressure from hate groups will accomplish the goals of our enemies – an incompetent workforce and an even more incompetent management staff. The changing of admission standards is not reserved for educational institutions, as we all know. Eventually minorities with my physical qualifications will be serving in the U.S. Military Special Forces (I have exercise induced bronchial asthma, flat feet, arthritis in my hands, deformed hands, shoulders so rounded I can’t carry a rifle on anything else on my shoulder.)

  4. Hey Old NFO;

    I’m gonna draw a parallel; The Old old Roman Empire, for an organization that for a long time was feared, toward the end seemed to be incompetent in all its institutions, leadership, military, and the people with few exceptions were totally self absorbed….I keep wondering if we are seeing the modern version of the same and this is by design to bring down our institutions to be replaced by the “Barbarians” across the water or south of the border.

  5. Gerry- Thanks, I hadn’t see THAT one!

    WSF- She might get lucky, and that is what it will take to overcome the powers that be.

    B/Bill- Yes, that IS their goal. Along with offshoring all the manufacturing and tech.

    Bob- Good point.

  6. The Long March Through the Institutions is pretty much complete. We’re seeing the results. This is what happens when folks decide that politics is beneath them and unworthy of their time.

    • This is why the institutions must be neutralized, by rendering the irrelevant, retaking them, or destroying them.
