Charla King, her husband Ross King, and three of their five children (two are too young) are — or rather were — very active in the Cherokee County 4-H chapter. But disheartened by the stands the national chapter seemed to be taking, and after being roundly ignored by the national group and essentially blown off by the state organization, the Kings are starting an alternative organization. They’re calling it “Heritage Youth of America.”

In the spring of 2013, 4-H launched a nationwide program of youth development called the “Thriving Model,” which appears grounded in equity, Marxism, and tenets of critical race theory.
4-H and FFA were two bedrock programs that were available to ‘country kids’ growing up that taught youth development through programs. 4-H was run by the Agriculture departments/universities in each state, under the Department of Agriculture in DC. Apparently the Head, Heart, Hands and Health mantra has gone the way of the dodo, or at least been twisted into ‘something’ totally different.
I guess it’s no surprise this came about under the Dems…grrr…
Nah, it was happening even 6 years ago when my nieces were in 4-H.
The Wokesters and the pedophiles were working hard at it then. The problem is that in many places the parents weren’t involved as much as parents were in the past. Plus the urban/suburban folks became a much higher percentage that the farm folks. The decay has been happening for a while, but most people are just now noticing it.
One of my nephews and my cousins kids are into FFA and I haven’t heard ill of it, yet.
I was wondering about FFA….Hope they don’t go woke.

This is disheartening. 4-H helps mitigate the isolation of rural life and was a safe activity that brought young people and their parents together.
That which is not explicitly anti-gaystapo will eventually become gaystapo. This is the meaning and nature of “convergence.” All will be assimilated.

FFA is starting the get woke routine. More suburban kids in schools with chapters, more female officers pushed and celebrated at chapter and state level. Our state had an almost or all female set of state officers in 2020 – the girls looked kind of lost in setting up and running the big public meeting at the Farm Show. My guess is the guys still do all the work and fix problems, while girls gets public credit. Sure thing – girls, your turn to muck the problem stalls and get the stuck wagon out; and no help, do it yourself like the farmboy.
I’m on my county’s Sr Fair Board. We had a flair up of woke this year, in the 4H club display barn. Complete with BLM Flag, statue of Liberty holding a speculum, and an upside down American flag.
Some of the more based kids tossed the speculum and BLM flag, gave the statue a Bible and righted the US Flag. The offending club called the sheriff and raised hell, but nothing came of it. The local bird cage liner screeched about vandalism and hate crime. Good times…

Truth be told, I was kinda expecting it, when the Boy Scouts went woke, I was expecting the other youth organizations to follow their lead as more and more of those organizations got infiltrated by the left and their agents, and it is a shame. Those organizations are tailored for the rural and “country kids” the heart of the “MAGA” movement and I figured that they would go after them also. The Left, gotta infect and corrupt everything it touches, even all organizations that have been around for generations….Like the U.S Military.
Going to be hard for them to corrupt everything they touch if they’re not around to touch said thing..

I was a member of the 4H, but that was a good many years ago. I was a Cub Scout as well, but never made the Boy Scouts. The first clue I had that things were going wrong in the Boy Scouts is when a part of Camp Miakonda was very quietly sold to a developer. Then it was discovered that a few scoutmasters and councilors were pedophiles looking for new meat. Then… I don’t know. I despaired of ever seeing another organization like it.
Now the 4H is gone, although I have some hope due to Heath’s post about righting the flag, etc.
Every once in a while I see a BLM sign, and I have the urge to empty one barrel of my shotgun into it.
MJ- I went through scouting in the 60s… Never saw any problems at least with our local scouts.
