One to think about… maybe??? 🙂

WHAT Do Women Want??

Young King Arthur was ambushed and imprisoned by the monarch of a neighboring kingdom. The monarch could have killed him but was moved by Arthur’s youth and ideals. So, the monarch offered him his freedom, as long as he could answer a very difficult question. Arthur would have a year to figure out the answer and, if after a year, he still had no answer, he would be put to death.

The question?…What do women really want? Such a question would perplex even the most knowledgeable man, and to young Arthur, it seemed an impossible query. But, since it was better than death, he accepted the monarch’s proposition to have an answer by year’s end.

He returned to his kingdom and began to poll everyone: the princess, the priests, the wise men and even the court jester. He spoke with everyone, but no one could give him a satisfactory answer.

Many people advised him to consult the old witch, for only she would have the answer.

But the price would be high; as the witch was famous throughout the kingdom for the exorbitant prices she charged.

The last day of the year arrived and Arthur had no choice but to talk to the witch. She agreed to answer the question, but he would have to agree to her price first.

The old witch wanted to marry Sir Lancelot, the most noble of the Knights of the Round Table and Arthur’s closest friend!

Young Arthur was horrified. She was hunchbacked and hideous, had only one tooth, smelled like sewage, made obscene noises, etc. He had never encountered such a repugnant creature in all his life.

He refused to force his friend to marry her and endure such a terrible burden; but Lancelot, learning of the proposal, spoke with Arthur

He said nothing was too big of a sacrifice compared to Arthur’s life and the preservation of the Round Table.

Hence, a wedding was proclaimed and the witch answered Arthur’s question thus:

What a woman really wants, she answered….is to be in charge of her own life.

Everyone in the kingdom instantly knew that the witch had uttered a great truth and that Arthur’s life would be spared.

And so it was, the neighboring monarch granted Arthur his freedom and Lancelot and the witch had a wonderful wedding.

The honeymoon hour approached and Lancelot, steeling himself for a horrific experience, entered the bedroom. But, what a sight awaited him. The most beautiful woman he had ever seen lay before him on the bed. The astounded Lancelot asked what had happened

The beauty replied that since he had been so kind to her when she appeared as a witch, she would henceforth, be her horrible deformed self only half the time and the beautiful maiden the other half.

Which would he prefer? Beautiful during the day….or night?

Lancelot pondered the predicament. During the day, a beautiful woman to show off to his friends, but at night, in the privacy of his castle, an old witch? Or, would he prefer having a hideous witch during the day, but by night, a beautiful woman for him to enjoy wondrous intimate moments?

What would YOU do?

What Lancelot chose is below.

BUT….make YOUR choice before you scroll down below.

OKAY?

Noble Lancelot said that he would allow HER to make the choice herself.

Upon hearing this, she announced that she would be beautiful all the time because he had respected her enough to let her be in charge of her own life.

Now….what is the moral to this story?

The moral is…..

If you don’t let a woman have her own way….
Things are going to get ugly

  1. So true. Just present the facts as you see them, and allow the lady to choose what she wants to do.

  2. A nice story.
Likely made up by a woman, one who thought she was oppressed and wanted her own way..

  3. Similar to the Wife of Bath’s tale in the Canterbury Tales!

  4. Shaw Kenawe said…

    More from Dan Balz, WaPo:

“…there is the issue of proportionality and no doubt that the single biggest contributor to the declining confidence in the electoral system and the related threat to democratic processes is Trump and those who spread his lies. The 2020 election was securely run and fairly counted, no matter how often Trump and his acolytes — elected officials, candidates and ordinary citizens — spout the opposite. No credible evidence was presented to support Trump claims of widespread fraud.”

And then there’s this guy who is part of the mob that keeps repeating a damnable rotten lie that contributes to the distrust and malice destroying this country:

“Good afternoon and welcome to the new and improved Your American Heritage!

    Now with more MAGA!

My name is Ed Bonderenka. My pronouns are “Thee” and “Thou”.

And I am Not your Warm and Fuzzy Insurrectionist.

It’s Day 619 of the coup, the theft of the American Government, by enemies both foreign and domestic.

Our federal government has been stolen by the illegal actions of leftist politicians.
And they have no regard for you or yours. Only they and theirs.

We have been the victims of a vast criminal enterprise.”

He is, of course, totally wrong and deluded and is proud to stay that way. No amount of evidence (and there is a mountain of it) will dissuade him and thousands more like him from his sad delusions.

And because of that, our democracy is in peril.

I blame him and the thousands of other people who stubbornly cling to a damnable lie.

  5. Hey Old NFO;

They Say “Happy Wife, Happy Life” the Trick is to not marry a narcissistic women who believes that the world revolves around her, to achieve balance. That’s the trick. Good Humor btw

  6. Well, let me tell you.

I’ve heard it before. I was about 16 years old, and the wisdom was passed along to me by a neighbor. He was an older man, and I liked and respected him. I pondered this adage for a long time, and when I hit my mid-thirties I realized that my neighbor hadn’t told me the entire story.

Sure, let her make her own decisions. Let her be in charge of her own life – but when the whole thing turns into a train wreck complete with HAZMAT spill, do not remind her that this calamity is the direct result of a decision she made on her own, and now she wants you, the incompetent, dictatorial male who is overflowing with toxic masculinity, Mister Know-it-all Himself, to fix it for her.

Chalk that one up to experience.

  7. Great story.
Remember though, that even thought she looks beautiful all the time, like many a beautiful woman, she is still a witch.
    That can never bring happiness.

  8. That kind of thinking is why the divorce rate and single-parebting are going through the roof.

What man really wants to be axserf in his own home.
    I’m glad I’m single.

    • Well , Jim, some do like being serfs… but I’d hesitate to call them “men”.

  9. Oh, dear God. A VERY long version of a Borepatch groaner!!! 🙂

  10. Genesis 3:6
And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

I’ll take God’s wisdom over the foolishness of man, and she who was taken out of man, any day. Took a while to learn that lesson.
