It’s Army/Navy week… for the 123rd time, with the game on Saturday. Granted the USAF has already won the Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy, but it’s still Army/Navy…

The U.S. Naval Academy Midshipmen have taken to the skies in an early assault on their Army brethren dubbed “Operation Black Knight Falling,” with a kind of psychological operations mission that would make many an intelligence officer proud.

  1. At the Intel school at Goodfellow AFB the standing bet was that the commander of the losing team’s detachment had to walk the winning team’s mascot down the main street.
    One year the game ended in a tie
    That Monday morning the Army and Navy commanders were at the base commanders office to inform him that he had to walk a mule and a goat down the main drag, at the same time…

    My wife however, with a Marine brother and an ARMY husband, dotes excessively on the game.
    Me?
    I spend the game mostly in tears, thinking of the “Duty, Honor, Country” being exhibited by the young men taking part.
    Our country isn’t dead. It simply needs to awaken.
