YGTBSM!!!

Welp, the ‘View’ is at it again…

This writer regrets to inform you that the co-hosts of ABC’s “The View” are back to their armchair governing, this time proposing a new amendment to the United States Constitution to remedy what they see as a threat to the country.

“What really is starting to freak me out is the idea that we’re not even discussing changing the Constitution to make it say you cannot be in jail and be the president,” Whoopi Goldberg said, referring to the federal indictment of former President Donald Trump who continues to lead the field of 2024 Republican presidential candidates, ignoring the presumption of innocence and assuming both that Trump will be convicted and sentenced to serve time and win the 2024 election.

Full article, HERE from PJ Media.

I have to wonder if they have ANY understand of anything outside their cloistered little world…

They obviously don’t live outside the hard left enclave that slavishly supports the hard left/Dem/woke world view. And they sure as hell don’t ever travel to flyover country. The problem is, they have a platform and megaphone to espouse exactly what their handlers want them to say.

I just hope the folks are actually stopping and thinking about what is going on, and the split that is getting worse and worse every day.

I REALLY don’t want to do interesting times again.

Sigh…

  1. Caryn Elaine Johnson started out life as a genuine “Karen”, albeit with an alternate spelling.
Then she took to comedy as a clown called Whoopi Goldberg, a name chosen to evoke laughter.
And now the clown expects to be taken seriously.

  2. If we are forced to live in interesting times, I hope we can be “interesting” people, and rebuild a decent society afterwards.

  3. I’m sorry that Whoopi is starting to get freaked out by the lack of (discussion of) a Constitution that bans incarcerated people from the Presidency. That lack of discussion hasn’t affected my life in any way.
I’m glad that she has such profound respect for the document, though. I do, as well. Heck, I never have to worry one single minute about having troops quartered in my home!

  4. You may not want interesting times, but interesting times want you.

    TINVOWOOT!

  5. Marxism like tornados don’t ask for permission.

All Killhouse rules are in effect, read them, grok them.

Got your rule of threes covered? Most troubles you cannot shoot your way out of.

  6. Constitution is ultimately a deal, that underlies a consensus on peace.

The issue with any proposed change, getting buy in to accept the new agreement as being as binding as the old agreement.

You do not get that with a change intended for short term screwing over of opposition.

Incarceration rules would give a disparate amount of power to lawyers, and are unwise to push when lawyers and judges could be reasonably and widely seen as unduly abusing their current power.

In Oklahoma in 2008 or 2012, an incarcerated man obtained a significant amount of the primary vote compared to Obama. It is possible that Obama frauded that man out of delegates at the Democrat convention. If candidates could be capriciously removed merely by incarcerating them, we would not know about the degree of opposition to Obama inside of the Oklahoma Democratic Party.

Many Republican voters like Trump as a way of telling Democrat officialdom off. Many Democrat spokescreeps and officials like incarcerating Trump as a way of terrorizing Republican voters into compliance.

Goldberg’s proposal is clearly not likely to resolve fundamental disputes if passed.

She also is not thinking the timeline over. You need a certain number of ratifications to bring it into force, and you need them by late 2024 or early 2025. Which basically means the state legislatures and governors currently in place. I have not checked, but I do not think her proposal has the votes.

A set of events where Trump is elected a third time, he takes office, he pardons himself from the partisan witchhunt, and then a ban is ratified later, would probably not serve her agenda. Especially if the ban is used to prevent Biden, HRC, etc.

It is unsurprising that Goldberg is freaked out, supposed that her claim is honest.

Most Americans are a bit stressed and perhaps a little more unhinged than they were previously. The lockdown was hugely disruptive, feelings are still running high, and there is not a complete consensus about the events that occurred. Add in other factors, and very many people are afraid, stressed, confused, and not always managing those fears, stresses and confusions in a functional way.

This is an information warfare environment, trust has been weaponized, and previously certain assumptions have sometimes been cast into serious doubt.

Many people are slightly broken, are proposing things that are not well thought out, and are disturbed that others are not discussing or pushing those ideas. Goldberg is not alone there.

However, Goldberg does not seem to have any close friends that she profoundly and vehemently disagrees with, that she still trusts enough to have conversation with. IE, she may have echo chambered herself. If she did have such a friend, perhaps she might have instead allowed herself to be talked down.

An alternative explanation is that she is a profoundly nuts opposition propagandist, she is personally worried about the regime failure of her big facist gamble, and she is wildly flailing in seeking effect from more propaganda. Baghdad Bob, etc.

This seems to be Newsome’s situation. Newsome only seems to have gotten into office as a result of Nancy Pelosi, and may be in trouble after her diminished influence.

  7. Gee, what about a blue-collar man, son of immigrants, pro-labor, anti-war candidate who ran for president five times, once while in prison for objecting to restrictions on criticizing the government? Yes, he was a pale male, but shouldn’t he have been allowed to run if The People supported him?

Allow me to introduce Eugene V. Debs (1855-1926).

  8. The women on the “VIEW” are so controlled and brain dead that I think sometimes they are just mechanical drones. The people that watch that show and believe the drivel they espouse are just as brain dead as Whoppie and the other women on the “SHOW.”

  9. It used to be that all the doc offices I visited had CNN or The View on, if not new episodes then old ones.

Lately? No CNN, No The View.

    Very refreshing.

As to The View and High Imperial Grand Poobah Whoopie? She has ruined herself in my and mine’s eyes. Not to mention the rest of the coven that sit around that table and fart through their mouths.

  10. The ONLY way this country’s problems and “cluture” is going to get fixed is “interesting times”.

  11. Once again the genius of our Founding Fathers is illustrated.
It’s DAMNED NEAR IMPOSSIBLE to amend that wonderful document.

    • It’s not so difficult when most people across the country agree that an amendment is needed, but it’s impossible when there is no nearly-nationwide consensus. And that’s what the Founders intended.

It’s especially difficult to pass an amendment while the fanatics of one party are demonstrating to the rest of the political spectrum why it’s a bad idea.

  12. All- Excellent points, and yes, Debs never made it to the ‘big’ stage, but at least he had the opportunity!

  13. Flyover country would elect him, just to see how many far leftist heads would explode.

  14. I watched The View once with Walters and once with Goldberg. I did not like it either time and thought it was a left bitch fest. Clips seen on You Tube show it has gotten worse. They do not give people with alternate view points any chance to talk and use the people of the show, the commercials, and the audience to break-up the guest’s views. It is a Left planned machine. I have given up on all TV and MSM is dying.

  15. Hey Old NFO.

Woopie and the rest of the Coven has forgotten one key facet of our judicial system, “Presumed Innocent until proven guilty”, sure the harridans and other lefties believe that President Trump is guilty, but thank goodness we don’t live in the world of opinion, but Law(I hope) so President Trump will get a chance to prove his case, and if he is successful, it will unhinge the modern left.
