When MSNBC starts questioning…

The cat is out of the bag…

MSNBC host Katy Tur is questioning the legitimacy of whether the ban against former President Trump’s businesses is “fair.”

Full article, HERE.

And it’s obvious a LOT of business folks are taking a hard look at New York and whether or not their business might be the next one to come to the state’s attention.

I’m betting there will be a quiet exodus in the next couple of years of major corporations to ‘friendlier’ states…

When MSNBC starts questioning… — 16 Comments

  1. What with Cuomo telling conservatives that they didn’t belong in New York, confiscatory taxation, criminals enrolled in a catch (sometimes) and release program, giving illegal immigrants preference for services over citizens, businesses being seen as subject to the capricious whims of the state, I suspect the “quiet exodus” will be a noisy flood. New York is in competition with California to be the most woke socialist state in the union.

  2. If the criminals running the courts can get away with this in New York NO business is safe anywhere.

  3. While it’s sad, it’s not surprising.
NY has done this to other businesses before and telegraphed it will use the law for political purposes.

If you need an example, look at the way they attacked the NRA – for purely political reasons, not any of its very real shortcomings.

It also isn’t very relevant since Trump is now a Florida resident.
If Desantis had really wanted to get ahead he should have supported Trump with the power of the state in response to others misusing their state powers against him.

    • I think being incorporated in NY (and having large holdings there) is a limiting factor.

    • I do find it funny that the NYFC prosecutors used Mar-al-Largo as the main ‘you overvalued it’ property.

A property not in NYFC, but in Florida.

There were so many shenanigans involved in this trial its not funny.

But, finally, the mask has been pulled off, the curtain has been raised, the faceless enemy is now exposed to even the common man.

And, seriously, what, $18 million for Mar-al-Largo? Hell, there’s trailer parks valued at more down in that area.

Show trials, a sign of national socialism or outright socialism. Sigh.

  4. NYC has lost 158 large businesses in the last year, and I expect that will accelerate. People who assemble businesses are not stupid, and they can see the threat.

  5. This must be related to the truckers refusing to deliver goods to New York City that I read about in Eaton Rapids Joe’s blog.

I new the fine was a political sham. Hadn’t heard about the other.

You all be safe and God bless.

  6. I have a feeling that the Democrats sent fundraising letters out following the verdict, with a slight “Don’t be the next business”.

  7. I remember back in the mid-2000s when NY state was running ads on CNBC, FoxBusiness, and other financial channels urging businesses to move to the state and promising 5-7 years of low corporate taxes. I always wondered how badly the taxes hit when that “welcome window” expired.

  8. This is a wake up to all business in NY state and city to leave fast. They planned to do this to Trump but there is no reason that they will not do it to any business for any reason. The state and city is corrupt at all levels with politicians and judiciary.

  9. Nice little business ya got there… Be a shame if sumpin were to happen to it….

  10. All- Thanks! TXRed- Good point! I wonder when the big investment firms on Wall St. will start leaving…

    • Why would they leave? Aren’t they part and parcel of the Dems power base? I doubt they would/could even think of doing such a thing.

  11. It’s time for people to leave NYC for good. Or wall it off and turn it into a prison…been considered before.

  12. Next time I hear somebody claim that “Big Business” is running everything, I’ll point them to things like this.

It costs a hell of a lot to relocate, so why would anyone do that if they could simply pay off the politicians?

Not saying that corruption doesn’t exist, but if the people who are most able to pay, can’t make it work for them?

My take is that the real power is in politics, not in business. Politicians are in that game for the power, and they aren’t giving that up. One of their biggest tricks is to set us against each other.
