Contrast that with the DNC going into the ‘friendly’ city of Chicago, a dem stronghold for over 50 years.

In fact, downtown businesses are bracing for violence, chaos, and looting as many thousands of pro-Hamas activists and protesters are expected to descend upon the city, threatening to make Chicago in 2024 look like Minneapolis in 2020.

I strongly endorse the spaying/neutering of each and every DNC attendee. I would even support using taxpayer dollars for the services.
Yep , there are a lot of differing players that could or may make things go goofy at the DNC . Protests are pretty much a given , could get outta hand . I hope not but some of these groups do like to get in a rumble . And any chance for a good looting opportunity won’t be passed up by a good chunk of the citizenry . And it is odd because a good portion of the protesting groups are part of the Dem base , aside from the Anarchist , I’m not sure where they stand other than raising hell and destruction , well funded it would appear , “rent a riot” . I certainly won’t watch it (the convention) , but will catch the highlights on the news feeds . Sure to be a crazy tailgate party outside the event , but perhaps not .
All those folks who for years have been saying/chanting or having signs of “Re-create ’68” do seem to have their chance now, after a fashion. Hopefully it will be like ’68 and the politician from MN will lose the election. Pity he didn’t lose the last couple Goobernatorials.

I have a hope, a very faint hope, that some sanity still exists among some Democrats and Cackles and War Hero won’t get the nomination. Maybe just maybe, a creditable candidate will emerge.
I’ve posted elsewhere the ballot printers should be monitored to make sure more ballots than registered voters aren’t printed. Yes, that is an even fainter hope.

It does suggest that there are at least two major sides to the Democrat party. The BCRS wing is trying to get control by muscling the OR wing but I think the OR wing holds most of the delegates except for a small percentage of the Super Delegates. Truthfully I’d rather have the BCRS wing win out as they would terrify most of the “independent” vote. The OR wing LARPS (well badly) at being semi normal, although Kamala’s price control things and statements about taking property are giving her away and are maybe a sop to the BCRS wing which she knows the media will downplay. There is a story in the news that over 1,000 Chicago cops went on medical leave in the run up to the convention. When you are missing nearly 10% of your troops, it makes staffing more difficult under the best of circumstances. I’d bet neighboring agencies will be reluctant to get involved in crowd control/riots either.

I was wondering when someone of note would bring this up. I’m old enough to remember the DNC of 1968, where Dan Rather, Mike Wallace, and Edwin Newman got a gentle lesson in polite behavior by the Chicago PD. As I remember it, they were told, “Go here, do this, and shut your fat yap.” Being unused to following orders from a JBT in uniform, they got mouthy. I know Rather got a fast right to the midsection which flattened him and shut him up; the other two were treated similarly.
But that was then and this is now, so I’m sure there will be plenty of looting, peacefulish demonstration against everything, arrests, bail, and whatever. I’d advise merchants to turn their stores into hard points and arm themselves as they see fit.
Compare this to the RNC, where there was an absence of looting, vandalism, and graffiti – and litter. No litter was left behind.
Driver license bureau in an around Dallas last week has illegals getting their form of license and dem’s have voter registration tables set up and signing as many as possible. If they can do it, so can we.
