NYC again…
New York City Mayor Eric Adams was indicted on five federal charges relating to illegal contributions to his 2021 campaign, according to the indictment unsealed Thursday.
The 57-page indictment alleges Adams “sought and accepted improper valuable benefits, such as luxury international travel, including from wealthy foreign businesspeople and at least one Turkish government official seeking to gain influence over him” for nearly a decade.

Sigh… Another dem run city, another scandal. Even worse, Adams was NYPD before he retired, so he damned well knew better. But I find this statement rather ‘telling’…

Granted, this has been building for a while, but how many times do we have to go through this? If it’s not the money they are spending on illegals, it’s corruption, or it’s ignoring ‘problems’/blaming them on anything but the root cause (the city administration itself), etc.
Crap like this is just one of the reasons I ‘like’ living in a small rural town. I know my neighbors, the local cops, and city workers. I can walk into city hall and get help and/or answers the same day.
I’m really starting to worry about what November is going to bring…
Pretty soon we will need a special wing on a federal prison just for convicted politicians.
Your worries for November are valid.
Was gonna comment that they should make a special left wing for the prison. Thought better of it when the second thought entered my mind, that almost ALL politicians deserve their own wing of a prison.
So we can have the center section for the thieves, murderers, etc. and a left and right wing for politicians that wish to remain among their cohorts. Gonna need a lot more prisons to hold all of ’em.
This is fairly common behavior among politicians, particularly among blue state and blue city Dems. It is usually ignored by the Feds unless the Dem annoys the Dem administration. Bob Menendez broke with Obama on Cuba policy. Rod Blagojevich was trying to sell the Senate seat Obama wanted to sell. Eric Adams was objecting to too many illegals ending up in NYC.

But he’s always been a crook. He’s always been a corrupt mayor – there are a LOT of stories about how corrupt he and his administration have been. I’m betting he was a corrupt cop as well. Commies gotta commie.
Ah, it’s not illegal because he’s a democrat. Now if he was a republican he’d be heading towards the gallows.
Trump is bad because he and his creditors all made money. Hang him.
Adams is good because he’s… a democrat.

This type of behavior is normal for politicians and expected from Dems. He is being targeted as revenge for pissing off someone higher up the political food chain.

Nobody. Just set the swamp ablaze.
We have our own problems, so I cannot sneer at Americans, only sympathise. As a US ally, I’m looking at Trump as a fair-weather friend who would not hesitate to throw us under the bus if it suited him.
How did it come to the point that your choice is between the worst candidate from either Party?
I can’t see Trump as much better than Harris. Smarter, maybe, but a smart crook only rips you off more effectively. If I was a Republican in the US, I’d be asking myself how it came to this, and why we couldn’t offer an OBVIOUSLY better candidate.
