Gah… How???

Once again, this administration is ‘leaking’ important documents to the enemy…

Or at least what most of us think is the enemy…

Earlier on Monday, a defense department official confirmed to the Guardian that an in-depth inquiry was under way into how the two documents, attributed to the US Geospatial-Intelligence Agency and National Security Agency, came to be published on the Telegram messaging app four days ago.

<snip>

The first document is titled “Israel: air force continues preparations for strike on Iran and conducts a second large-force employment exercise” and the second is “Israel: defense forces continue key munitions preparations and covert UAV activity almost certainly for a strike on Iran”.

Full article, HERE from The Guardian (pretty sad when we get better news from the UK than our own media).

I don’t know about anybody else, but I’m beginning to wonder who’s side this administration is really on.

Between pushing for an early cease fire, and now doing the same with Hezbollah, to dealing with Iran for $$$ and hostages…

And ‘indications’ that there are players at State, and possibly deeper inside the administration that are more than friendly to Iran, plus not knocking the Houthis down when the Navy had two carriers worth of attack aircraft setting there, instead they send a couple of B-2s to hit ‘specific’ targets…

I’m not saying we were perfect in the past, because we damned sure weren’t, but the last three years of one security violation after another, either through DOD, JCS, or the administration ‘officials’ are enough to make me concerned about our future security.

  1. The Department of State has been the enemy of America since Roosevelt was in office.

  2. That’s one of the reasons why I disbelieve people who say Trump will be a disaster in foreign policy. He pretty much can’t be worse than the current lot.

  3. Julius and Ethel Rosenberg…
The Jews have been confused about their loyalties for years.
    Is this an “Anti-Bibi” situation?

  4. By now, I really hope Israel is using this nonsense as a disinformation highway. If it makes the (mal)administration look like fools… well, the truth will out.

  5. In 1968 I was assigned to the 31st TFW at Tuy Hoa AB in Vietnam. If I had been foolish enough to leak any classified documents to the VC or NVA, I would have been arrested and court-martialed and probably spent the rest of my life at Fort Leavenworth in Kansas if I was lucky enough to avoid a firing squad. Those that leaked this Top-Secret Info must be found and arrested for treason and tried. Let the punishment fit the crime!

    • Concur. In 1974-78 I was on SAC ICBM Combat Crew and we did even THINK about our TS Classified Material outside of a secure area. We had a package of “FOR OFFICIAL USE ONLY” go missing, and the Wing went ballistic! It was found, but EVERYBODY from Wing King to Airman Smedley went through a mandatory class on safeguarding classified.

  6. It is a sad statement, but I hope Israel is using the US for a “The Man Who Never Was” effort. Give known leakers misdirection they want their Enemy to get but in such a way as to validate the data.

Keeping the pager/radio project under wraps until the (explosive) reveal shows they understand OpSec at least

  7. I’ll play Devil’s Advocate

Admin leaks IDF plans to stop the war from spreading.
Uses B-2 so USAF get to play( DOD Color Purple )
B-2 less likely to get shot down then some aircraft in USN strike package.

State Department wants to normalize relationship with major power in the Middle East as a way of exerting pressure on Israel.

I can understand the reasoning on everything but the last point.
    That’s just stupid.

  8. Seems like a 3-D chess game being played here. One side postures, takes a shot, scores some points, then the other side gets the opportunity to inflict damage on the other team. Hence the delays in action/counter-action.
Driven and guided by bigger and more powerful players. Intentional “leaks” could be used to hint what could happen if one player doesn’t follow the playlist. Or provide misdirection as needed.
Sounds paranoid, but I really wonder why all-out hammer-and tongs hasn’t broken out yet. It seems like a more leisurely ballet or blind-man’s bluff
