Interesting…

Apparently not ‘everybody’ in Europe is in favor of ‘green’ energy…

The link to the X post is HERE.

The guard fires are lit!

Much like what we are finding here, the wind farms don’t produce as expected, they ruin the landscape, and are in the migration paths of birds.

Sound familiar???

Personally, I don’t think I want to piss off the Vikings.

Just sayin…

  1. We aren’t going to replace our electrical generation sysotem with wind or solar. It’s not possible. What we can do is supplement it with privately owned wind and solar for individual homes. If the corrupt power companies weren’t preventing it.

2.5 year ago I started the tortuous painful journey to install a solar system with battery storage for my home. I have 5 acres so siting the panels was simple and my large garage provided ample room for the batteries. It took until August of this year for all the permitting, installation and local inspections to be done. TWENTY SIX MONTHS to jump through the hoops. Once it was all said and done..and $75K later….the local power company refuses to allow me to activate the grid tie. Their excuse…the system produces too much electricity… I.e they will lose the money I pay them each month….so they won’t let me use the system. I want to have backup power for a 3 K square foot home plus an 800 SQ foot accessory dwelling my daughter lives in… that’s 100% electric, with a 10 Kw solar system with 20 Kw of battery storage. And NV Energy says no. Our whole system is corrupt. We are going to have to burn it ALL down and start over to fix the myriad problems we face.

    • Can you just go off-grid instead? If you have a backup generator off a big enough propane tank you should be able to operate totally independently.

    • Private solar is HEAVILY subsidised here, and has been sold for years on the idea that you can sell your excess back into the grid.

      Problem No1.
You generally only have “excess” when nobody else wants it, either.

      Problem No.2
You don’t have excess to sell when it is really needed , in the evening when most people are home, warming up the house, cooking dinner on the electric oven and running the TV and computers.

      Problem No.3
The baseload power generation that takes over when your wind and solar aren’t working, run most economically at 90-95% capacity 24/7/365. So it costs EXTRA to switch it up and down whenever you want to sell your surplus into the grid. That costs them more that just losing your normal consumption.

The power companies aren’t corrupt for refusing to buy your excess. Those who told you that you could sell your extra, are dishonest. Go off-grid if you don’t like it.

As for the permitting process…. Yeah, there are times when it seems very corrupt. However from a firefighting POV, solar is an additional risk and so is battery-storage. You might want to check with your insurance co.

      Best of luck.

  2. DNA test showed bloodlines in far north British Isles (Scotland) and Scandinavia (Vikings). Also a redhead. Already pissed off – light the fires; keep them lit.
