Our high school group supper last night was a combination of a get together and a wake, remembering one of our classmates who died earlier this week. It was great to åsee the 30+ people it turned out, but at the same time we’re getting old. It is funny how little some people’s “attitude“ has changed since they were in high school, and how much other folks have changed. Most of us are retired now and some people are traveling. Others are busy with things at home, and a few are more concerned with grandkids and education, and wishing they were closer!
I do find it interesting that our particular class seems to stay in touch more than the other classes either side of us. I think it is because most of us grew up together, going to the same elementary schools, junior highs, and playing sports together from junior high on. I think around 75% of us have college degrees, and that may be a factor of the draft in the late 60s early 70s.
There will be a breakfast this morning, and a few other things planned, so we’ll see how the day goes. And then I get a lovely 5 Hour drive back home (@#$#$@#$$ traffic and road construction).
