What was ‘supposed’ to be a two day evolution turned into a @#$$# FIVE day cluster… Between the pain meds, IVs, and left hand not talking to the right, she ended up spending three more nights, while the idjits tried to sort things out…
But I got her home yesterday at 5pm, gave her a pill, and put her ass in bed. Daddy had the kids at a peewee football game, so I was only herding cats and dogs. At least the dogs didn’t try to jump on her!
Today I’m dealing with the kids in addition to everything else!!!

Oof. There’s nothing like having an MD say things like, “Hmmm, that’s interesting,” or “This will take a little longer than anticipated,” or “That’s … Wait a moment, please, I need to go call someone.”
(THAT turned a 30 min appointment into a 90 min, because he called the manufacturer of the implant and they realized I was the first petite female to have one done, so the bone had not regrown as quickly as anticipated. Earlier recipients were all younger, large, and male. Makes a difference.)

I blew out my left knee on a Saturday afternoon in mid July. I was supposed to get a MRI to rule out surgery. I was told line of patients was long so would be Sunday noon. Then Sunday afternoon, then not today. Was told Monday MRI was not functioning, but outside trailer remote MRI could be done. Had MRI early Tuesday. Doctor said moderate damage PCL, but surgery not required. PT highly recommended.
A bit frustrating that. I hope your daughter recovers fully.
Had an MRI about a week ago, in one of those trailer mounted units. NOT Impressed. Very noisy, and lots of vibration. Makes me wonder how they get any fine detail with that system. Apparently, they had to do a lot of weight reduction to make it portable. Earplugs, and some sort of armor faceplate that supposedly is to help with noise control is used. I had two sequential sessions in an MRI about 30 years ago, and fell asleep in the deep insertion part of the machine. NOT possible in a trailer version!
I blew out my knee on a Saturday, and the MRI doc was not available. CT scan was adequate (torn quadriceps tendons). Four years later, I tore the meniscus in that knee, and before the MRI, they asked me about an ear implant. Titantium, I was told, but so long ago that proof was unavailable. (Clinic changed hands, I never got post-op notes, and it was 35 years beforehand.) I’m blacklisted.
Turns out that at that time, an implant company made stainless implants with the wrong alloy, one that’s magnetic. They recalled them, and got “most” back, but the MRI people aren’t willing to take a chance.
