Yesterday, Singham’s wife, Jodie Evans, wore a trademark fuchsia straw hat and protested across the street from the United Nations on E. 47th Street, between First and Second Avenue, under an arch at Katharine Hepburn Garden, smiling widely next to agitators from the far-left CodePink nonprofit she co-founded and her American-born husband helped fund from his base in Shanghai. As part of their elaborate weeklong calendar, the activists railed against the U.S. military and its “all-out climate and environmental devastation.” and then they marched to the offices of Open AI to demonstrate against data centers they allege “drive war” and “economic degradation.”

The other thing of note is that these ‘protests’ are only occurring in ‘safe’ cities (e.g. blue), not out in flyover country per se…
Personally, I believe this is because for all their talk about violence, they really don’t want to be confronted with ‘actual’ violence or the risk of getting out of one of the ‘safe’ cities and finding out the locals don’t play those reindeer games…

I think the demos and riots serve multiple functions. One of them is identifying people willing to be violent and screening them for more training. Another is identifying and cultivating people who won’t or can’t go kinetic but will carry out other supporting roles. As you pointed out, there’s a LOT of money going into the orgs.
Another is creating violent situations with the potential for making LEOs look bad, and creating victims for propaganda.
Another is driving law enforcement costs up, and reducing the quality of recruits, particularly in blue areas.
That’s part of a Cloward-Piven strategy to wreck local law enforcement and drive the hiring of people who 20 or 20 years ago wouldn’t have passed a background check. Including illegals.
That in turn increases disorder that increases the appeal of a national integrated police/military structure.
Don’t forget that a significant part of the population has been indoctrinated from pre-K to be susceptible to the revolutionary messaging. Boys are more likely to resist this, but don’t forget the motivator of doing stuff that females their age will be turned on by. If that leads them to do seriously stupid stuff. . .

I would point out these demonstrations happen every year during this meeting. The groups vary from Free Canuckastan to Code Pink. NYPD does the perimeter work, with every US LEO supplying officers for the protective detail to heads of state. There are not enough State Department Protective Services folks to go around.
What you correctly point out is who gets the press coverage. When BHO or Biden were in office the press was quiet as church mice. With The Donald, it is front page news.

There has always been a tension in America between small r republicans adn small d democrats. The line runs through the heart of every American.
For every problem, there are several alternative solutions, and at least one alternative is a stupid activity involving a lynch mob.
These can be expedient in various temporary ways, but the costs last.
