WWVH is the Hawaii time hack on HF (and it is still manned and working)… All us old fart aviators used this to hack out analog watches back in the day.
Since you’re not in custody, I presume that you didn’t splash those clay birds.
Have a Bubba Burger for me while you’re there. “We cheat only tourists, drunks and attorneys” is their tagline.
Last visit I asked the guy in front of me how many he qualified under. He answered “All three!”
LL- Nope.
Danno- Will do.
Tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, At the sound of the tone the time is…….As a long time ham operator, I relied on that to keep my clocks in correct alignment years ago.
5, 10, 15, 20 MHZ. Yeah baby!!
Danny- You and MANY others of us… 🙂
Waaay back in the day, I occasionally used the 20m WWVH to calibrate my ham gear. We used to keep close to the ‘fence’ on the 20m ham band and that was before the day of built-in crystal calibrators. Even then you still have to calibrate off a known good source and WWV was THE source.
In case any of you haven’t seen this, it’s pretty amusing!
Thank you, sir!
Sorry I couldn’t take pics inside…
