This researcher has my respect, for being willing to step up and give his research when it goes against his own political feelings. We used to call that a man of good character, or an honest man.
What he was talking about is what we call now scary as all get out. Cheating for either side is just wrong, and harms our republic much more than just about anything else I can think of. It is the fundamental beginnings of our government.
