And other things, so you aren’t getting much today.

But, I DO have a question re the Elmer Fudd issue…

And speaking of ‘wokeness’, a rather good graphic courtesy of New Discourses com.

Personally, I think a ‘lot’ of this is coming from the education system’s ‘programming’ of children/young adults to increase their insecurities…

There is this-

A Harvard University law professor has sparked controversy after calling for a ban on homeschooling.

Elizabeth Bartholet told Harvard Magazine that it gives parents “authoritarian” control over their kids — and can even expose them to white supremacy and misogyny.

Full article, HERE.

And this…

For this part of their study, Mayhew and his colleagues asked 3,486 college seniors from institutions across the U.S. about their observations of faculty members’ politics. Forty-nine percent of the sample said that their professors expressed politically liberal views “frequently” or “all the time.” Just 9 percent said the same about conservative professors.

As to the indoctrination question, 10 percent of students said they sensed pressure of any kind from professors when it comes to politics. Conservative students were more likely to feel pressure than those who identified as liberal.

And lets not forget Eric Clanton, HERE.

Anecdotal evidence, based on the few college students I’ve talked to, including one going for their Masters indicates that open support for Antifa and actual meltdowns when Trump won the election is 2016 were not/are not unusual.

And then there’s this…

Lots of things today seem to be passing both the Schenck and Brandenburg tests WRT to the rioting and those inflaming it…

h/t Stretch for the last one

  1. We are under assault as a country from within. What gives me hope is, on a macro scale, the assaulters are accomplishing little. They have their skirmish victories, but aren’t winning over the majority. Not a big return on their efforts.

    • I agree with WSF, but there will be long term consequences (cause and effect) and I don’t think that anyone knows what they will be.

  2. I like Foxfier’s blog the other day on the Harvard Law loony, and Sarah’s blog today on some of the emotional reaction to current events.

To the extent that you have to worry about white supremacism, the problem is the public schoolers, because one of the failure modes of leftist narrative leads there.

If homeschooling could enhance the viability of white supremacist politics, public schooling would have been enough to preserve Segregation.

The best thing for enhancing the viability of white supremacism is burning down black neighborhoods, and telling white people that opposing this is white supremacist. That anti-fa and BLM get away with doing this, and will try and not succeed to burn white neighborhoods, will create a fact pattern that could be interpreted as ‘minorities are uncivilized, serious force is needed to address’. We can short circuit it by making sure that AntiFa and BLM are only getting away with it so far, and are ultimately punished.

In particular, we want the white arsonists who traveled across state lines. Okay, they may have committed the crimes in hard left jurisdictions, live in hard left jurisdictions, and the DoJ Civil Rights lawyers may be objectively white supremacist, but there are still things that can be done in saner jurisdictions.

These riots will be hugely economically damaging. Which may extend to jurisdictions without riots, potentially allowing for RICO suits. Furthermore, there is also possibility that state anti-Klan laws may be applicable. There are definitely funding sources or business activities in conservative states.

  3. All- Thanks for the comments, and can’t disagree. Bob- Interesting point re RICO. Hadn’t thought about that.

    Posted from my iPhone.

  4. Another angle, some of the folks were raised hard left, and the crimes are committed in reliably Democrat locations, but are going to school in a state which is conservative or moderate. And those states might have a reasonable interest in understanding whether the arsonists are likely to do it again.

I don’t know what the UT Austin campus is like, but that might be the sort of school that is worth some scrutiny. a) How heavily were they encouraging the left part of the student body before Covid shut things down? b) Are they likely to tolerate arson conspiracy when the students come back in fall?

This is a year for stupidity, the students certainly aren’t all smart enough to know that such won’t fly, and just because things have been less bad in conservative areas does not mean that they will stay contained.

  5. Thanks for the excellent infographics.

And please, someone, put the Marxists back in their box. Maybe enough rope and they’ll…

  6. Hey Old NFO;
I am convinced that the riots are worse because people were cooped like hamsters in a cage and the rage made it worse. The Far left are well organized, I had tagged you and Lawdog on a in a post on farcebook how the MSP police were defeated in a street fights and how they did it. The article shows how well organized the left is and that they are not to be underestimated. Many on our side underestimate the far left as wimps and wusses and many are but there are a core of dedicated ones, those are the ones that will give the others spine in a fight. Those are the ones we have to beat, not the soy boys.

  7. Police Sources Show : The Black Man Seen On Video Shoving 92-Year-Old To Ground Has Been Arrested More Than 100 Times

  8. Back in the dark ages when I earned my psych degree the experts said that the average child’s personality was fully developed by the time they were FIVE. Now that age is down to TWO – even stalin knew that if he could control kids early enough and long enough it was nearly impossible to change them.
That is exactly why that ‘professor’ (read brain-washer)wants to get his grubby little hands on them. And why so many on the left keep pushing for things like Pre-K for SA (castro twin’s ‘signature’ achievement)
