Ye Gods and little fishes…

Teh stoopid is strong with this one!

When will the liberal media learn? It’s an evergreen question because they never do. This time around, Deadspin is the perpetrator of a race hoax targeting a literal child who was just trying to enjoy a night out at a Kansas City Chiefs game, and senior writer Carron (yes, really) Phillips has already doubled down on his smear amid justified blowback for his story.

“The NFL needs to speak out against the Kansas City Chiefs fan in Black face, native headdress,” was Phillips’ story on Deadspin, run with a side profile photo of a young boy with black paint on his face.

Full article, HERE.

The ‘angles’ of this story are just plain ridiculous! And trying to spin it to blame the CHILD for dressing in his favorite team’s colors and headdress is beyond the pale!!! I’m truly glad to see people/fans pushing back on this idjit and pointing out that fans for EVERY team paint their faces/bodies/other body parts in the two colors of their teams! And the whole stealing Native American symbols isn’t flying either.

Unlike the Washington team and others in other sports, KC hasn’t bowed to the progs and changed their team name or symbol (Good for them!).

I remember when Florida State got jumped on about the Seminoles name/likeness and the Seminole Indians spoke out saying they APPROVED of the linkage and profited from it! I note that particular ‘charge’ hasn’t been brought up again… snerk…

There is also a move afoot (ahorse) by other Native American tribes to have the Washington team reverse the decision and go back to the Redskins.

I just hope it works!!!

  1. “There is also a move afoot (ahorse) by other Native American tribes to have the Washington team reverse the decision and go back to the Redskins.”

Interesting sidenote: American Indians would still be “afoot” were it not for those evil colonialist invaders.

There were prehistoric horses in the Americas, but for some unknown reason they died out about 10k years before being reintroduced by European colonists around the turn of the 16th century.

  2. Another update: The kid and his family are members of the Chumash Tribe in California. His father is on the tribal board. So he could not steal Native American symbols. Also there is video of black KS Chief players preforming the tomahawk chop with him.

  3. God forbid that reality get in the way of this idiot’s “outrage”. So tired of these morons.

  4. This article may become the perfect example of the media selectively showing only one side of a story.

The journalist who wrote the article (Carron J. Phillips) seems to have a history of doing this sort of race-focused story.

While at the New York Daily News, the journalist (Carron J. Phillips) was the Sports, Race, and Social Issues columnist. The most recent article by him there was dated in 2019.

His most recent 40 articles at Deadspin contain a significant percentage of articles that focus on the issue of race as it pertains to sports.

If he keeps riding this particular hobby horse so hard, he’s gonna break it, or perhaps it’s going to break him.

    • I swear, you can read something over three times and not notice you left a piece of information in twice. My kingdom for an edit button.

  5. Sailor- Good point!

Wayne- Oh, I didn’t get that part! LOL

    SLee- You and me both!

    Ag- Interesting, and not surprised!

  6. I’ve been saying for awhile now that if the KC Chiefs wanted to remove all references to native American tribes in their name, it would be simple. They wouldn’t even have to change the name of the team, just the symbol. Replace the arrow head with a gold fouled anchor and the letters USN across it. Done!

  7. “I remember when Florida State got jumped on about the Seminoles name/likeness and the Seminole Indians spoke out saying they APPROVED of the linkage and profited from it!”

But they went even further. The complaining party said he was a Seminole, but the tribe came back with the news that records showed he was not a member of the Seminole Nation either in Florida or anywhere else in the US and to please STFU.

    He did.

  8. I hope the little boy’s family cashes in for defamation.

  9. hey Old NFO;

There was pressure to get the Atlanta Braves to change their names along with the Cleveland Indians, and both teams said “nope” the Indians didn’t mind, it was the liberal progs bitching.

  10. They will insist on rolling out the same old garbage. In time the mem will grow with the gen. pop.

  11. Just tell the Leftie that he was channeling Fidelito(Trudeau) and the blackface that Canadian Leftists don’t have a problem voting for.
