Gotcha…

It’s not often that somebody puts one over on me, but I gotta admit y’all got me on this one…

Jay G, SciFi, and some other folks ‘conspired’ against me here…

And I thank you from the bottom of my heart for this…

SciFi was the ‘main’ guilty party, as he actually put all this together, and even went so far as to get the correct paint scheme for the time I was there.

P3 in glass

He also built the case for it, and made the correct decals himself! (And learned a lot more than he wanted to about P-3s and variants and specific BUNOs… 🙂YD10 nose

Yankee Delta 10, from 1975! It has the Alfa crew status on it, and the correct angle and outlining that was used!YD10 tail

And the right ‘tail’ too!  This was the last year of the ‘old’ Skinny Dragon insignia on the tail.YD10 top

Thank you all for this.  It means a lot…  It will go in a place of honor.

WWII Poster…

And we come back around to the Army.

This one is a bit different, but interesting… Done in 1941.

WW II_US_Army_1LG

From the Historical Museum at Fort Missoula website.

Beall did these ‘composite’ water colors quite often, and this one is interesting in that it also includes a Sailor in the poster, but it’s an Army recruiting poster…  Another reason for choosing this, is once again the WWI helmet, and again it looks like an O3 has an early ‘Gas Trap’ M-1 with an M1905 on the end of it.

Cecil Calvert Beall’s works were regularly featured in the Saturday Evening Post and Collier’s, illustrations done mostly in watercolor. In 1936 Beall painted a portrait of President Roosevelt for the cover of Collier’s, after which he was appointed art director for the National Democratic Committee. During World War II, he continued to produce a popular series of Collier’s cover illustrations depicting decorated WWII war heroes in addition to contributing war-related reportage. At the end of the war, Beall was one of the few aboard the U.S.S. Missouri to record the Japanese surrender ceremony.

Jack Childs did the poem in the lower left corner, as follows:

Keep ’em flying. Keep ’em flying – airplanes, flags, machines, production – nothing lags. Put your shoulder to the wheel; courage staunch with nerves of steel … Here’s a slogan for us all – an answer to our country’s call … so – “Keep ’em fighting”

Well, on the 20th (oops) 16th actually…  PPP offically became PP again…

Jace days old

Now a year later?

Chillin’ on the deck with the pups…

Jace 1 chillin on the deck

Happy Birthday Jace, and I’m truly sorry for the world you’re gonna get…

Grrr…

I’m calling BS on the ‘no boots on the ground s**t…

As of today, 1600 boots ARE on the ground in Iraq.  And two US military died last weekend in a bombing in Kabul, but where’s the reporting on that?  One of them was apparently a Navy Reservist on active duty.

And the news tonight said they DO NOT have SOFA in place for these folks.  It’s time the administration STOPS playing games.  If you’re putting people in harms way, don’t tie their damn hands, and stick them on an island with no support…

Whether they like it or not, it IS going to take boots on the ground to stop ISIS, since they let them know ‘somebody’ is coming and they’ve all dispersed into the cities/towns…

And I’m gonna stop before I start cussing…

In other news, anybody got a spare TACNUC handy?

I’ve got the ‘perfect’ test site…

spammer

I am getting really tired of these scumbags… And they are false reporting as being from Japan, unless you really dig for them…

TBT, since everybody ELSE is doing it…

Back in the day…

And we bitched when the price went up…  The day before beer had been .35 cents!

Beer machineBeer machines in the barracks… The ‘brand selection’ depended on which base…

On Midway Is. beer was .25 and cokes were .35…

Needless to say the beer machines got emptied first!!!

Why was this overlooked???

Does anybody remember seeing ANY coverage of this, anywhere???

I don’t…

Taxi, oh taxi…

Looks like NASA finally got their act(s) together…

Boeing and Space X each got a contract today for the next iteration of the ‘space taxi’ for six missions each…

The interesting part?  They have to be ready to fly by the end of 2017!

Considering the Russians are charging us $71M per trip, sooner the better.  OBTW, the price was $52M until the last shuttle flight, then there was a MAJOR price jump.  One wonders why???

Seven passengers, reusable, and commercial NOT government.  It’s called the Commercial Crew Program…

HERE’s a short video from Space.com.

Why ask why???

How important does a person have to be before he is considered assassinated instead of just murdered?

Once you’re in heaven, do you get stuck wearing the clothes you were buried in for eternity?

Why does a round pizza come in a square box?

What disease did cured ham actually have?

How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on luggage?

Why is it that people say they ‘slept like a baby’ when babies wake up like every two hours?

Why are you IN a movie, but you’re ON TV?

Why do people pay to go up tall buildings and then put money in binoculars to look at things on the ground?

Why do doctors leave the room while you change? They’re going to see you naked anyway…

Why is ‘bra’ singular and ‘panties’ plural?

Why do toasters always have a setting that burns the toast to a horrible crisp, which no decent human being would eat?

If Jimmy cracks corn and no one cares, why is there a stupid song about him?

Why does Goofy stand erect while Pluto remains on all fours? They’re both dogs!

If corn oil is made from corn, and vegetable oil is made from vegetables, what is baby oil made from?

Do the Alphabet song and Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star have the same tune?

Why did you just try singing the two songs above?

Did you ever notice that when you blow in a dog’s face, he gets mad at you, but when you take him for a car ride, he sticks his head out the window?

Why, Why, Why

do we press harder on a remote control when we know the batteries are getting dead?

Why do banks charge a fee on ‘insufficient funds’ when they know there is not enough money?

Why does someone believe you when you say there are four billion stars, but check when you say the paint is wet?

Why do they use sterilized needles for death by lethal injection?

Why doesn’t Tarzan have a beard?

Why does Superman stop bullets with his chest, but ducks when you throw a revolver at him?

Why do Kamikaze pilots wear helmets?

If people evolved from apes, why are there still apes?

Why is it that no matter what color bubble bath you use the bubbles are always white?
Is there ever a day that mattresses are not on sale?

Why do people constantly return to the refrigerator with hopes that something new to eat will have materialized?

Why do people keep running over a thread a dozen times with their vacuum cleaner, then reach down, pick it up, examine it, then put it down to give the vacuum one more chance?

Why is it that no plastic bag will open from the end on your first try?

How do those dead bugs get into those enclosed light fixtures?

Why is it that whenever you attempt to catch something that’s falling off the table you always manage to knock something else over?

In winter why do we try to keep the house as warm as it was in summer when we complained about the heat?

How come you never hear father-in-law jokes?

The Grey Man update…

It’s a (proof) BOOK!

Payback uprightMaking the last slog through the editing/corrections.  I know I’m not going to catch everything, but I’ll do my best for y’all…

Hoping to have it out the end of the month.

Thank you for your patience!!!

WWII Poster

And it’s back to the Marines!

WWII Marine poster JM FlaggThis is another one by J.M. Flagg, link HERE.  Interestingly this was done in 1942, but still shows the WWI helmet, and that looks a lot like an 03A3 with an M1905 on it…

Can’t tell much from the ammo pouches either…

Another thing with this one, is that it was printed for Milwaukee, with a specific Recruiting Station address on it.
