Twas the Night Before Election…

T’was the night before elections
And all through the town
Tempers were flaring
Emotions all up and down

I, in my bathrobe,
With a cat in my lap,
Had cut off the TV,
Tired of political crap.

When all of a sudden,
There arose such a noise,
I peered out my window,
Saw Obama and his boys.

They had come for my wallet,
They wanted my pay,
To give to the others,
Who had not worked a day!

He snatched up my money,
And quick as a wink,
Jumped back on his bandwagon,
As I gagged in the stink.

He then rallied his henchmen,
Who were pulling his cart,
I could tell they were out,
To tear my country apart!

‘On Fannie, on Freddie,
On Biden and Ayers!
On Reid, On Pelosi,
He screamed at the pairs!

They took off for his cause,
And as they flew out of sight,
I heard him laugh at the nation,
Who wouldn’t stand up and fight!

So I leave you to think,
On this one final note, GET OUT AND VOTE !!!!

Author unknown…

H/T Bill

It’s Almost TIME!!!

Two more days…

This Flag
Or THIS Flag

The choice is yours…  Please go vote on Nov 6th if you haven’t already.

Just out of curiousity…

Has anybody seen ANYTHING on the burial of Ambassador Stevens???

I posed a question in a comment over at American Perspectives, and she didn’t find anything more than THIS.

So I started digging…I did Google, Bing, and a couple of others and got bupkus…

Nothing more than what Opus #6 found…

Kinda interesting that nothing has been put out. One would think that his being the first Ambassador killed in years, there would be a laying in state at the State Department (at least for a day), and then quite the turnout for the funeral…

But…

Crickets…

YGTBSM #249…

WTF is going on in NY/NJ???

Just heard that Alabama power line crews were turned away from multiple locations in NY/NJ because they were NOT UNION crews…

People are out of food, water, gas, it’s getting cold and help is being REFUSED, because the help is NON UNION???

And in other news, there is looting, dumpster diving for food, fights,  and whining about how ‘slowly’ help is coming because it’s NEW YAWK, that ‘can’t’ be happening there, they are better than everybody else!!!

And where’s FEMA???

Oh, and  one more question…

People need power to survive, and yet Bloomie has two LARGE generators running a TENT in Central Park for the NY Marathon, because THAT is more important???

Can’t Blame Bush for this one…

More on Sequestration…

BLUF, or Bottom Line Up Front as they say…

If Congress (NOT the administration) doesn’t do something, DOD and DOD contractors are screwed come January…

And I’d almost bet that the Senate WILL force this on the American military and the country…

Folks that I’ve talked to indicate the Navy will NOT be able to meet commitments world-wide, nor meet OPTEMPO/PERSTEMPO statutory requirements…

By Richard Sisk for DOD Buzz

In what was likely their last joint press briefing before the Nov. 6 elections, Panetta and Dempsey presented a wish list of what they want from the upcoming lame duck session of Congress after the election, with the main focus on avoiding sequestration that would devastate defense budgets and planning.

“When Congress returns to town after the election, there’s a great deal of critical work that needs to be done,” Panetta said.

Number one on the agenda is avoiding the mandatory cuts on Jan. 2 under  sequestration that could add another $500 billion in defense cuts – $55 billion next year alone – over the next 10 years on top of $487 billion in cuts already underway, Panetta said.

Pulling back from the “fiscal cliff” will “require Democrats and Republicans to work together,” Panetta said.

“I don’t know what I’m gonna’ get for 2013, much less 2014,” Panetta said, leaving him at a loss for planning the department’s future. “For me to put a strategy in place, I have to have some kind of stability,” Panetta said.

Panetta said he also requested the lame duck session pass a defense authorization bill and legislation to strengthen cyber security defenses.

He also called on the Senate to approve the nominations of Marine Gen. John Allen as the new head NATO commander, and Marine Gen. Joseph Dunford as the commander of international forces in Afghanistan.

Cheerfully swiped from HERE.

Y’all have a safe one out there!

Really, I mean REALLY???

Sometimes I just really have problems with the one trick ponies out there…

And crap like THIS is why, this is from the Orange County Register in Kalifornia (of course)…

In the letter, Dina Kourda, on behalf of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, asks the city’s street maintenance superintendent to place the sign at the site of the crash on Walnut and Yale avenues.

The sign would read, “In memory of hundreds of fish who suffered and died at this spot,” to remind tractor-trailer drivers of their responsibility to the animals who are “hauled to their deaths every day,” according to the letter provided by PETA.
Ye Gods and little fishes (literally)… Do these people HAVE lives???
We have people dying because of the administration’s lack of balls, natural disasters all over the place, and THIS is all they worry about???
And in the teach em young category… Down in Florida they’ve arrested 9 people including some coaches for gambling and setting point spread on YOUTH FOOTBALL GAMES…
Article HERE.  It’s not enough to bet on the pros or college games, but you want to teach your kids how to throw games/stay in the spread before they even get to High School??? Not that I’m cynical or anything, but I can’t help but wonder if they were trying to ‘grow’ some players they hoped would make it to college and/or the pros and give them an in…

And then there is THIS from Military.com; the continued waffling and evading from DOD over the terrorist shooting by Hasan at Ft. Hood…

Already facing intense scrutiny for its shifting narrative about the assault on the U.S. Consulate in Libya, the Pentagon now says it will not reclassify the Fort Hood shootings as a terrorist attack over concern about biasing the case against the gunman — an argument that is getting a mixed review from legal specialists.
Late Friday, after 160 victims of the Fort Hood, Texas, shooting called on the Pentagon to label the attack terrorism instead of workplace violence as it has for the past three years, the Department of Defense said it would not reclassify the attack.
In rejecting the victims outcry, Defense Secretary Leon E. Panetta’s spokesman cited concern that having the government weigh in could bias the case against Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, 42, who is awaiting trial and faces the death penalty if convicted.
When asked how Mr. Panetta plans to respond to the victims, his spokesman took a day and a half to respond, eventually emailing a statement Friday night.

“The Department of Defense is committed to the integrity of the ongoing court martial proceedings of Major Nadal Hassan and for that reason will not further characterize, at this time, the incident that occurred at Fort Hood on November 5, 2009,” Pentagon spokesman George Little said in the statement. “Major Hassan has been charged with 13 counts of premeditated murder, and 32 counts of attempted murder. As with all pending UCMJ matters, the accused is innocent until proven guilty.”

No major issues, but still trying to figure out how wet toilet paper and 20lbs of leaves ended up on 4th floor balcony… NO friggin idea on that one…

Keep those up in the NE in your thoughts and prayers, they got hammered pretty badly.
