I didn’t do much for KTKC this year, but thanks to all who donated I actually made my goal.
I cannot express how much I appreciate that, and your willingness to help out a great cause.
Thank You!

And we’re off…
And apparently the new ‘online’ signup was ‘off’ too…
Senate Democrats on Tuesday voted to refuse to enter into official negotiations with the House on a spending bill, saying there can be no talks until the GOP agrees to end the shutdown that began Tuesday morning.
The 54-46 vote showed Senate Democrats remain united, and the vote shoves the issue back over to House Republicans, who have now seen the senior chamber kill four different proposals to end the shutdown.
But Republicans said Democrats now own the shutdown by refusing even to talk.
“They literally just voted against working out a compromise,” said Sen. Mitch McConnell, Republicans’ leader.
Democrats have been insistent on a “clean” stopgap funding bill that doesn’t affect President Obama’s health law. House Republicans, meanwhile, have said there must be conditions.

So people are being sent home with no pay, and the possibility of NO backpay! I can’t help but wonder how many will come back? And what happens if this runs 2, 3, 4 weeks???
Could ‘you’ survive a week or a month without a paycheck?
My $.02 worth here, I’d do if I were in the House is I’d send a bill up that makes EVERYBODY come under obamacare, no exclusions for Congress, unions, nobody…
And I’d go home. Put it in Reid and BOs court…
The democratic version of compromise is WE (the little people) give up everything, they give up nothing, then take more (in taxes)…
Screw em all…
2014 will be the fourth try at the ballot box, what next???
And a gratuitous video of Vito and the ‘ball’…
In order to keep it from getting monotonous I cut this down to one catch…
He did this 9 of 10 ten times the only failure was when I kicked it over his head and he couldn’t jump fast enough! And I don’t think the neighbor kids will kick the ball in the street anymore…
Three weeks ago that was a bright, shiny new ball, but it got away from the kids and Vito ‘caught’ it for them; except for the bite it was fine, if a little flat…LOL
PP replaced the ball and now he has a bigger play toy than the tennis balls!
A couple of catch up pics from the continuing roadtrip…
Another version of point and click interface!
Yes, they’re all plastic, and the ‘real’ food comes out looking exactly the same! They take pains to do the same ‘design’…
Hello Kitty…
There is another one floating around with Pokemon both outside AND inside on the upholstery…
And the Walmartians are now flying…
She had the obligatory nose ring, stud in the eyebrow, and metal studs in the shoes to go with the hot pink highlights in the hair. I wonder how she got through the metal detector!
Along with ‘that’ package, the obligatory high whiney voice and complaining constantly…
Well, Keads and I snuck out and took a training course with Bill this weekend…
Money was turned into smoke, noise and knowledge and a fun time was had by all…
Keads needs a haircut…
And I did my normal screw up, dropped one round…
10x double taps, and I did this not once but TWICE!!!
But I met the qual, so I guess I’ll take that and be happy. Bill did an excellent job of instructing, and there was a lot of back and forth between the four of us students. Well worth the $$, and the time!
And then Bill took us out for a ‘good’ dinner… First we went to Norway, and took a left, went to the middle of nowhere and took a right, and ended up in Amana. Yes ‘that’ Amana…
And that was WITH the shortcuts…
The Amana Colonies were founded 150 years ago, are a National Historic Landmark and are visited by people from all over the United States.
Originally, all land and buildings were owned by the community. Families were assigned living quarters, and each person over school age worked at assigned tasks in the kitchens, fields, factories or shops. In 1932, the people voted to end the communal way of life. Today, many of the businesses in the Amana Colonies are independently owned and operated.
We ate at the Ox Yoke Inn, a German restaurant and man, it was GOOD (scratch the damn diet again)!!!
I’ve got a couple of videos, but with the bandwidth at the hotel, I’ll wait till I get home to put them up…
Tomorrow it’s back to the grind…
For all y’all that didn’t grow up out where folks actually drive more than ten miles a day, it was about an hour there, and an hour back. So a ‘shortish’ drive to dinner… 🙂
This is what it’s like to get a ride with the Blues…
As you watch this, look at how the nurse is reacting, then think about the fact that the pilot is talking the ENTIRE ten minutes in what is a pretty normal tone of voice…
However…

U.S. Navy Cancels Blue Angels 2013 Performances
SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The Navy has cancelled the remaining 2013 performances of its
Flight Demonstration Squadron, the Blue Angels. The squadron will continue to train to maintain flying proficiency until further notice at its home station in Pensacola, Fla.
Recognizing budget realities, current Defense policy states that outreach events can only be supported with local assets at no cost to the government. This is one of many steps the Navy is taking to ensure resources are in place to support forces operating forward now and those training to relieve them.
The Navy believes there is value in demonstrating the professionalism and capabilities of our Navy and Marine Corps Naval Aviation team, thus inspiring future generations of Sailors and Marines. The Navy intends to continue aerial demonstrations in the future as the budget situation permits.
And it’s NOT looking good for FY-14…
Back in the day stuff…
Turning over at sunrise…
You got it, we’re outta here… Only four hours to homebase…
And yes, there WERE form flights, in a P-3 even…
And one more, from back in the day when the Navy wasn’t PC and all touchy feely…
Got this in 1977 on a Misawa, Japan deployment. Some guys did a Korea run and had them made up, another crew picked them up. Solid brass a weighs a bunch… Also the exact size of 105mm shell case… 🙂
I’m honored to know a few of these gents, and this is 12 minutes worth watching…
I can’t help but compare these heroes to Kerry… And Kerry does NOT compare well…
I’m off attending a class, AAR to come.

Running hither an yon, so in lieu of a real post…
Of course the ‘left’ actually BELIEVES most of these (or at least ‘I’ think they do)…
FUN FACTS ABOUT THE AR-15
* The inventor of the AR-15 was Satan, though his patent has since expired.
* Scientists have confirmed the deadly effects of an AR-15 by giving it to a chimpanzee who then murdered them.
* Scientists agree that each year the AR-15 will grow more deadly until it kills everyone in the entire world.
* Some believe that Hitler was in fact an AR-15 in a rubber mask.
* In the Garden of Eden, God gave Adam and Eve access to every firearm out there except for the AR-15 which he told them not to touch because it was too evil. But then the NRA, in the guise of a serpent, told Eve that the AR-15 is really fun to shoot. So then Eve took the AR-15 and started shooting all the animals in the garden because she is one awesome chick.
* The part that makes the AR-15 so extra deadly is the handle on top. The AR-15 would be used in less murders if it were more inconvenient to carry.
* It was an AR-15 that told Miley Cyrus to dance like that.
* Bullets that are normally harmless will kill instantly when fired out of the AR-15.
* The reason AR-15s have that prominent handle on them is because the most requested feature for an assault rifle was to be able to carry it like a Hello Kitty lunch box.
* If you find yourself surrounded by AR-15, know that they will fire automatically if they sense fear.
* The AR-15 is easily concealable and can fit inside a matchbox.
* The AR-15 is the leading cause of global warming from how its bullets shoot holes in the ozone.
* A very small percentage of gun deaths are attributed to the AR-15 because it is very good at disguising itself as other guns to frame them.
* What are the differences between an M16 and an AR-15? Scientists agree that it is something.
* The AR-15 can be rendered harmless by giving it only a 10 round magazine as people always miss with the first ten rounds and an AR-15 takes an hour and a half to reload.
* The AR-15 can shoot through schools.
* In a battle between Aquaman and an AR-15, Aquaman would break down and buy it so people might think he’s more manly.
* There were no shooting deaths until the invention of an AR-15. No one even considered using a gun to shoot another human being until someone saw an AR-15 and said, “I bet I could use this to kill people.”
* There was an assault musket similar to the AR-15 used by the world’s most evil pirates, but it was pronounced “Arrr-15.”
* The Assault Weapon ban was needed because it is well known that an AR-15 with both a pistol grip and a flash suppressor would be unstoppable by any modern military.
* In Europe there is no such thing as an AR-15 and thus also no such thing as murders. Instead of being violent, people there just drink wine and smoke cigarettes all day.
* If the AR-15 were banned, it’s believed all gun deaths would end because even gun murders that didn’t use the AR-15 were inspired by the evil sight of that gun.
* If you are shot by an AR-15, you become one.
* The AR-15 is responsible for 95% of all deaths each year. The rest of the deaths are from obesity and drone strikes.
