You just want ‘comfort’ food…
Just a burger and fries, home made, nothing fancy… Comfort…
Everybody has different ideas of what is ‘comfort’ food for themselves, and that is fine as we all grew up in different places eating different things.
But I do find there are only ‘certain’ places I will spend the $$ to get a burger and fries, and those are usually the greasy spoons. Why, you ask?
Because they remind me of the places I grew up where we didn’t have McDonalds, or the other fast food places. A&W was about it, back when they were a drive in, and Dairy Queen (where you ONLY got the ice cream). Otherwise, it was a mom and pop restaurant, or a greasy spoon… Yes, we were cheep! Hell, we didn’t have much money as kids, or even in the early years in the Navy.
I can afford better today, even the occasional steak dinner, but I still like and default to a plain old burger and fries…
What was/is your favorite comfort food? Mexican, Italian, British, Fish/shrimp???
I really don’t understand this one at all…
A federal judge has ordered federal immigration authorities to release an illegal immigrant gang member with multiple unlawful entries into the United States and whose criminal history includes rape and robbery, Fox News Digital has learned.
Earlier this month, U.S. District Judge Susan Richard Nelson, an Obama appointee, ordered the release of Carlos Antonio Flores-Miguel, an MS-13 gang member from El Salvador, from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said.
“This activist, Obama-appointed judge RELEASED Carlos Antonio Flores-Miguel, a criminal illegal alien from El Salvador and MS-13 gang member, from ICE Custody,” said Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis. “Releasing violent criminals is inexcusably reckless and now this criminal will be able to perpetrate more crimes against innocent Americans.”

Why would any actual judge release somebody like this into the general public? Or is this a purely political move on her part to ‘punish’ ICE and the administration?
Also, who died and made her the Queen of America???
I’m at the point that I’d be in favor of penalties for ANY judge/DA/chief/sheriff that releases somebody like this and they reoffend. As far as I’m concerned, they should suffer the same penalties the offender gets! Same prison, one cell over would be fine with me…
Grrr…
Moved to Texas and just announced it…
Uber co-founder Travis Kalanick says he’s the latest billionaire to join the exodus out of California as the “billionaire tax” initiative gathers signatures for the November ballot. “On December 18, I moved to Texas,” he told TPBN hosts John Coogan and Jordi Hays. “I don’t know what’s so specific about December 18, but let’s just say it’s prior to January.”
If the initiative passes, it would levy a one-time 5% tax on the entire net worth of the state’s billionaires, backdated to Jan. 1, 2026. That much you probably already knew.
What you might not know about the so-called Billionaire’s Tax Act is who is pushing for it and why — or how much it’s already cost the state.
The initiative’s primary sponsor is SEIU-United Healthcare Workers West (SEIU-UHW), which hopes to literally cash in on the tech sector’s riches.

Millionaires and billionaires don’t get to that point by being stupid. They know how to read the ‘handwriting on the wall’. And California has shot itself in both feet with the ‘Billionaire’s Tax Act’.
Estimates are that as of 1 January, $1 trillion of the $2 trillion held by billionaires in Californa had already left for Texas and Florida, among other places.
Not only are the folks leaving, they are taking their companies with them, along with the oil companies closing refineries so they are also losing all of that tax money from businesses, employees, and all the ancillary organizations.
I’ve heard rumors there is also a ‘proposal’ to tax all savings accounts in California with a one time 5% tax… yeah, right… ‘one’ time. Every year about April 15th???
If that becomes a reality, EVERY person will take the hit, regardless of their income level. And even with that, it will not come close to making up for the losses they are experiencing.
Even worse, I don’t think anyone knows for sure exactly how much in the hole California is, much less how bad off their pension plans are considering how much they have to pay pensioners every month!
If you’re getting ready to leave, do us a favor, LEAVE the California mentality there and don’t bring it with you. Trust us, we don’t want your attitudes or politics in our states. We’ve already lost Austin the left coast liberals! They tried to outlaw BBQ in Austin!!!
Needless to say, that didn’t pass…
To start the week…
ACTUAL AUSTRALIAN COURT DOCKET 12659 —
A lady, about 8 months pregnant, got on a bus and sat down. She then noticed the man opposite her was smiling at her. She immediately moved to another seat. This time the smile turned into a grin, so she moved again. The man seemed more amused. When on the fourth move, the man burst out laughing, She complained to the driver and he had the man arrested.
The case came up in court.
The judge asked the man (about 20 years old) What he had to say for himself.
The man replied, ‘Well your Honour, it was like this: When the lady got on the bus, I couldn’t help but notice her condition. She sat down under a sign that said, ‘The Double Mint Twins are coming’ and I grinned. Then she moved and sat under a sign that said, ‘Logan’s Liniment will reduce the swelling,’ and I had to smile. Then she placed herself under a deodorant sign that said, ‘William’s Big Stick Did the Trick,’ and I could hardly contain myself. But, Your Honor, when she moved the fourth time and sat under a sign that said,
‘Goodyear Rubber could have prevented this Accident!’ … I just lost it.’
‘CASE DISMISSED!!’
Is gonna leave a mark…
President Donald Trump said Friday that the U.S. had carried out a bombing raid on Iran’s Kharg Island, a strategically vital island in the Persian Gulf that serves as the country’s largest oil terminal and a crucial hub for its crude exports.
“Moments ago, at my direction, the United States Central Command executed one of the most powerful bombing raids in the history of the Middle East, and totally obliterated every MILITARY target in Iran’s crown jewel, Kharg Island,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
The island, located roughly 35 miles off Iran’s Bushehr province in the country’s southwest, is about the size of New York City’s Central Park but carries huge importance for Iran’s economy.

The before…
I’m sure we’ll be seeing the ‘after’ in the next day or so…
That’s seven million barrels a day of oil that Iran can no longer move…
That is also a lot of money that will not be going into their coffers to pay the IRGC and others. Now things get really interesting for them. How ‘loyal’ are the IRGC when nobody can pay them?
And if the keep hitting other country tankers parked in the Persian Gulf, how soon before those countries start shooting back? The Saudis have options, with the east/west pipeline going over to Yanbu and up to Ain Soukhna. So they could quit using Ras Tanura completely and still get their oil out.
We’ll see what happens next…
Again…
NASA is targeting an April 1 launch for its Artemis II mission around the moon, marking the first crewed lunar flight since Apollo in 1972.
Officials said Thursday they completed a flight readiness review (FRR) and are set to roll the rocket back to the pad March 19 followed by final configuration for launch.
A potential launch for the 10-day mission is scheduled for 6:24 p.m. ET April 1, with a backup date of April 2 at 7:22 p.m.

I almost hate to say this, but I’m glad ‘I’ am not part of this…
Trying to overcome the inertia at NASA has to be an uphill climb at best, and a losing cause at worst. The fact that they aren’t even doing an unmanned automated flight makes me wonder if they are jumping the gun.
Especially with the ‘known’ issues with the leaks.
Personally, I ‘think’ this is too much, too fast. But I can’t help but wonder if they are trying to beat SpaceX and are willing to put lives in danger for political points…
Not a bit…
The scandal-plagued Obama Presidential Center in Chicago already stirred up plenty of controversy. Now the money trail surrounding it raises even more uncomfortable questions about how former President Barack Obama’s inner circle is cashing in while taxpayers get screwed over.
New federal tax filings reveal the staggering salaries flowing through the Obama Foundation as construction of the $850 million Obama Presidential Center in Jackson Park nears completion. The foundation will operate the massive 19.3-acre campus, which sits on publicly owned Chicago parkland. The project includes a museum, an athletic center, and a public library branch. It will not operate as a traditional presidential library overseen by the National Archives.
The land it sits on is a big part of the scheme. The Obama Foundation secured a 99-year agreement with the city, under which the foundation pays just $10 per year to use the plot. That deal alone costs Chicago tens of millions of dollars in potential value while handing over prime public property to a private nonprofit run by a former president.

As always, ‘follow the money’ if you can…
This is also the organization that promised a $450M ‘endowment’, but according to records, only $1M has ever been put IN the endowment.
Meanwhile, the usual suspects keep dipping into that trough of ‘free money’, since they were part of the ‘administration’. Of course, they say their ‘salaries’ are lower than ‘most’ foundations…
The Rockefeller Foundation’s CEO makes about $1.4M year, but controls $6.4B of endowment. The Mellon Foundation’s CEO makes about the same, but controls about $8B of endowment with annual grants about $540 million. The Ford Foundation’s endowment is $16 to $16.8B with annual grants about $500 million, and the CEO makes around $1.2M.
How about compare and contrast… shall we???
And I’m wondering if the lawsuits have been to court yet, or been squashed over the overruns, quality control issues, etc… Haven’t heard much if anything about those in the last year or so.
Shrug, not my circus, not my monkeys, and sure as hell NOT my money…
Welp, the State of NY has f**ked another person…
Our friend Kelly Grayson is in the process of getting both knees replaced, the first one was done 14 Jan and he’s working on getting the second one scheduled.
But… NY has ‘disallowed’ his short term disability, supposedly because he was diagnosed with ‘arthritis’ in his knees. This is @#%#)! ridiculous.
Kelly has spent over 30 years as an EMT/Paramedic working transport, 911, and the myriad of calls that an ambulance crew gets. He’s delivered babies, kept people alive to get them to care, etc. And wore out his knees in the process…
According to him, once the right knee was replaced, his right leg is now almost 3 inches longer than his left! I know when I saw him late last year, he could barely walk, more like a bowlegged wobble than actually walking upright.
Lawdog set a modest goal for a fundraiser to help Kelly, and it got around half of the total. We were hoping that money would help ‘offset’ the short term disability. Well, that ain’t happening…
And if you know Kelly, he’s too proud to ask, preferring to suffer in peace. So once again, we are asking for folks to give what they can, even $5, a cup of Starf**ks folks. Every bit helps to pay the bills.
